The 10,000 things of Phenomenal Reality.

Everything, everything distinguished or seen as separate from anything else or from Nothing; the 10,000 things are what words make.

Before words, is the Tao.

The number is not magic; it just means the very many, the un-numberable many things. As per the last link, "In philosophy, Lao Zi writes about "ten thousand things" in the Tao Te Ching[.] In Zen Buddhism, the "10,000 Things" is a term meaning all of phenomenal reality."

The 10,000 things are the things of the world...the car, the plane, the boat, the restaurant, etc., expressed in modern terms.
