I have gotten the idea from various postings I've read over my time here that many Christians are personally offended when a gay person considers himself Christian and whats to attend church.
For the Christians this applies to, why does it bother you if a homosexual wants to worship the same God you do?
And, if the church they attend isn't your church, why are you offended that certain ministries open their doors to homosexuals?
Shouldn't you be happy that a church is tolerant because that may lead more people to believe than would normally consider believing Christianity?

One of the most important tests of maturity is knowing that liking someone really has nothing to do with whether one disagrees philosophically with them or not about anything! Jesus showed this clearly regarding how he treated people. He treated them kindly, not according to whether he agreed with their lifestyles, doctrine, or their politics for that matter. No, it went much deeper than that. Although he loved all humanity, and demonstrated that quite profoundly, of course, He appeared to like those who were sincere, real, open, and most of all those who knew that, as a human, they were poor and broken in spirit, needing a Savior, no matter whether they were conservative or liberal, religious or not (i.e., from Nicodemus the Pharisee to Mary Magdalene the prostitute). In fact, those he hated the most were those who should've known better, given their knowledge of Whom God said He is in His written Word (i.e., most of the Pharisees). No, they were the least sincere, open, real, and should not have been. Therefore, in this light they chose to be unaware of the ugly truth about themselves. This is to be expected by those who don't have the advantage of being entrusted with His Word, not those who do.

Well, I'm learning, as I get to know Jesus better, that a good percentage of the people that I like don't attend church, and maybe never will, although a much lower percentage that don't like do attend church. But, I can say that anyone who becomes like a child in their spirit before God the Father, is quite close to entering into His family and kingdom, if not already there, churched or not. It is usually them that I like the most. However, being the sinful human that I tend to be, I can say also that sometimes I like those who aren't humble in spirit, and that usually brings me much unnecessary conflict and trouble.

So, how does this relate to those who gay-identify an profess Christ? Well, again I will like those who are humble and sincere, most of the time, but not those who aren't. Again this has nothing to do whether they are actually saved or not, even though it appears that anyone who is real, sincere, and professes Christ, will be open to God's desire to mold and change them towards the image of His Son. So, that may be possibly someone who is still gay-identified, but is now on the path to not feeling like they will need that label, or anyother one (i.e., ladies' man, alcoholic, bum, rich, or boss) eventually. But those who do seem to hold on to these labels are further away from entering the kingdom. So, who's who? I would ay that those who see themselves as gay Christians are closer, if not already a son or daughter of God, than those who identify themselves as Christian gays. Since being gay is more important to them than any affiliation they have with the Savior of the world.

I am not offended at all by you being a homosexualists, if that is what you truly want to be. But I can truly tell you one thing. I do not believe that a homosexual can truly be a Christian, without first turning away from homosexuality. For the Word of God teaches that homosexuality is nothing less than pure sin. And a person cannot choose to walk in sin, and walk in Christianity at the same time. If you want to worship the One and only true God, Jehovah, then you must turn from homosexuality. I hope my answer does not offend you, because I love you with the love of the Lord Jesus. And I am not offended when a church opens their doors to homosexuals. For they should not be turned away, but taught the truth. If you are taught that homosexuality is alright, and that God truly approves of it, then I suggest that you get into the Word of God, and also into another church, if they are teaching you that it is alright to live such a live. For that is nothing more than a pure lie, which has came straight from Satan's mouth. I suggest that you have a sincere talk with God.

I don't dislike homosexuals who consider themselves Christians. The Bible specifically says that homosexuality is an abomination in His sight. It says that if a man lies with another man the way he lies with a woman, that they should both be put to death. It is not a matter of disliking the homosexual, but it is the homosexual's acceptance of a lifestyle that is in direct contradiction to the word of God. Should we shun anyone based on their sexual preference or any other reason? Well, I think you should consult the Bible about that too. Paul said that if a brother is caught in a sin and wont repent of it, then cast him from you. Most homosexuals who consider themselves christians overlook the abomination of their actions and then want to label others as haters and intolerant. Remember, God said it was an abomination, not merely sin, so if He hates it, then those who claim to love Him should hate it too. I am not against ministries that open their arms to any type of sinner, but once the sinner gets there, if the church abdicates their sin or doesn't preach and teach against it, then the homosexual and the church are wrong, according to the word of God. I didn't make the rules, I just try my best to keep them. Consider the motives of your heart, and compare it to the light of the word, and you will see that the Word of God is always the right choice.

There are correctly a couple of matters happening right here. While there are a part dozen verses within the Bible that item to homosexuality or appear to factor to it being a sin, none correctly quote God at the area. All 6 have been written through guys. Now a few say, "however there's a verse that says if its within the Bible its Gods phrase, so there!" (as they stick their tongue out) Trouble with that little verses is, it used to be written through a person, correctly one of the crucial guys who wrote a few of the ones anti homosexual verses, the Apostle Paul and as I factor out, he used to be no longer quoting God, correctly if I am no longer improper God correctly not ever spoke to the Apostle Paul so all of his books have been simply his reviews. Its additionally intriguing to notice that we're instructed no longer to pass judgement on every different and but right here now we have Christians judging homosexuals. Another intriguing proposal on all that is that God made it transparent that he makes a decision what's and isn't sin and who will and won't input heaven. Yet right here now we have devout persons announcing what God will or won't do. A little clear of faith. The subsequent intriguing factor approximately this dislike is that simplest guy does it. Rather ironic that mans anti homosexual behaviour is unnatural, (as simplest he does it) but now we have plenty of animals and bugs who're into identical intercourse intercourse, do not deliver every different grief over that and but guy refuses to recognize this, he then says his hate is okay as homosexuality its unnatural but he refuses to recognize that different animals do not do the identical.

The basic principle of Christianity is realizing that we're sinners, and then relying on the grace and mercy of God to obtain the necessary forgiveness for those sins.

To receive forgiveness, we must 1) be truly sorry for our sins and 2) we must demonstrate authentic repentance ... by turning away from those sins.

Absent either of these, forgiveness for sins is typically not available.

Anyone who instead, chooses to flaunt their sins in public by openly promoting them to others, becomes a scandal, an occasion of sin, and a source of confusion and division in the "Body of Christ", and has no business calling himself a Christian.

Similarly, any minister or denomination that would cooperate with such a person or group is not authentically Christian either.

This applies equally to EVERY sinner ... and to ANY sin ... it's NOT just about homosexuals.

People who insist on living an openly sinful life style ... gay or otherwise ... and who are looking for affirmation and approval ... should NOT do so in the Christian church ... instead, they should join a club, or some other type of special interest group.

The Christian church is not a club. It is God's provision for those who choose to humbly out seek his grace and his mercy.

I am a neo-Christian (basically anyone who doesn't think homosexuality or reading Harry Potter is a sin). Um... I don't know--this is a good question. Basically, from my experience, there are many branches to Christianity. There are people who believe the Bible says Adam should only be with Eve, and men who are with men are abominations. BUT I don't think it explicitly says this in the Bible--besides, all these branches of religion interpret the Bible in different ways, also.

Personally, I believe in Christianity because I believe in the teachings of Christ, who loved everyone and spread messages of love and goodwill toward each other. Therefore, I don't give a hoot if anyone is gay! I mean, I could care less.

So... um... this was just a longer way of me saying that I don't know the answer to your question, either. Hehehe.

A homosexual going to church and calling themselves a Christian does not bother me any more than a liar or a thief or a cheat doing the same thing.

What DOES bother me is someone who does not understand that God clearly says that homosexual acts and lying and stealing and cheating are sins.

When you say something about ministries "opening their doors" to homosexuals, if you mean allowing them to worship, I say wonderful. If you mean allowing them to be leaders in the church when they are living actively homosexual lifestyles, then it's wrong.

I am happy when churches open their doors to ANY person of ANY race, creed or color, but inviting them in and approving of their sins are two different things entirely.

Calling oneself a Christian while being involved in the homosexual lifestyle is blasphemy. One cannot be both. I'm thrilled that they want to worship God but they cant engage in a premeditated sin and still think they have salvation. As Christians we are called to righteousness. Scripture makes it clear that a homosexual will not enter the Kingdom of God.

According to the Apostle Paul... you CANNOT be a Homosexual and claim to be a Christian,. Look here...!!
At 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10, we read the warning: “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor MEN who lie with MEN, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.” .. and it says . And yet that is what some of you WERE. But you have been washed clean.
So the answer is Not a Chance...

Ah, Humbert, you have to take in to account the bu-ggered up logic of the church - perhaps not the most apt term in view of your question.

To be a child of god, you have to have to have been caught in a state of mind (child) that allowed you to accept the faith.

then you have to sign up to the club, pay your due's and await your reward.

Part of membership is to take your kids along to be introduced and sign up themselves.

first problem! Gay relationships do not produce the next generation of faithful subscription paying folks!

second problem is that to ensure a good supply of future funds, the church likes to marry the faithful off young, and keep them in loving relationships. That's no sex outside of marriage, which ensures that the sexually frustrated newly weds - at the start of the marriage will produce some future generations at least.

But sex for fun is not frowned upon, I mean the church doesn't want too many converts at once, it would cost too much to feed them, and that would eat into the profits, so you second problem is that you can't have Gay folks mixing with faithful folks, the idea of fun sex might spread!

Finally, you have a central figure, who was male, kept the company of men, and loved his mum.... and no record of a girl friend? I think if you let in the Gay community, then the questions they all dread would start to be asked, what was Jesus' sexuality?

so you shut the door, and lock it, before your house of cards gets blown down!
