No Kerry those scriptures mean there is no marriage in heaven between humans. There is only marriage with Christ and his church.

Yes mormon_4_jesus, I do want to be with my loved ones in heaven. You need to read those scriptures on your own. And stop looking at Jeff Lindsey's website. You are in a very dangerous place, I do believe some mormons are probably saved. But you people need to look at the whole picture. And stop running everything through your bishop first. Your bishop cant get you to heaven.

A few things come to mind... I was the only member in my family when I got married. I was VERY worried about how they would feel that day when I went into the temple w/o them and especially my Dad. But I didn't think twice about not going, I had done so much changing in order to be worthy to enter the holy temple. So in the end, it really didn't matter, because it was what my husband and I worked for and wanted. I was married 18 years ago, and that was the exact time they stopped doing ring ceremonies. AAt leastin my area. Now if you were in my stake right now, you would be told to have a reception after the temple sealing. That having a ring ceremony takes away from the sacredness of the temple marriage, which I now agree with. With that said, if you are hard set on a ring ceremony, then you will probably have to have it away from the chapel somewhere else. Same with the alcohol situation. I was cutting costs, so we had a alcohol free reception in the cultural hall. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it exactly the same way. What my husband and I knew what was right and correct to do was vastly more important than what our non-Mormon family/friends thought anyway. Good luck. PS. Ask your Bishop, he'll know your stake's standings on this.

You have completely taken it out of context. There is no marriage in heaven when the marriage is not performed by a man with the authority to marry a couple for eternity. ALSO, many of the questions that are asked in the New Testament are rhetorical. (Get out a dictionary to learn what that word means.)

It says that there is no marrying or giving in marriage. It does not say that no one will be married.
BEsides, you have to remember who Jesus is talking to. The Saducees do not believe in the resurrection. For the Saducees to even ASK the question means that it must have been accepted among all other Jews that marriages DO last in the resurrection. Otherwise, why would they even ask?
They are asking about one of them, about who this woman would be married to in the resurrection. But since she, nor any of her seven husbands, believed in the resurrection, their marriage, like most people's today, would be "till death do us part", an automatic divorce at death. Those like that will be as the angels, but not married.
Let me ask:
Wouldn't you want your husband with you in heaven? And your children? Why would you think you would be happy knowing that they were around there, but not near you or each other?

This is exactly why we get sealed in the temple. Because marriage must be done before we go to heaven to be married in heaven.
It must be done now. This is also why we seal our ancestors in a proxy ceremony so that they have the chance to be married -- It cannot be done where they are now -- we must do it for them. They can reject it and it will be as if it had not been done.

You have noticed some important scriptures indicating the need to perform the ordinance of marriage while on the earth. Sacred ordinances need to take place while we live here on the eart. It is too late if we do not accomplish what we need to while in mortality.
Those scriptures you point out are correct. You cannot get married in heaven as it is required that we do so while in mortality.

That's correct there are no marriage ceremonies performed in heaven. For this reason we have to be sealed in earthly temples. Jesus gave the Apostles the authority to seal on earth and it would be sealed in heaven.

They say they will not be married or have marriage given to them. Being sealed is not the same as being married. People can be married outside of the temple(if they have non-mormon friends) but being sealed is a WHOLE differen't matter.

It's you who said marriage. It says there is no "marrying" not marriage.
All marriages will be established before people arrive in "heaven".

There will be no marriages performed in heaven because that is something that needs to happen on earth, like baptism.
