"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

Wouldn't buddhist's practicing peace be considered as children of God according to gospels in which Jesus Christ Himself spoke?

Romans 9:30-31

"What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness."

Isn't Paul suggesting that God has children here on this earth although they do not attain to the word of God, nor know the word of God?

The thought of this question has been with me for quite sometime. Indeed, this is how I look at all buddhist's to be a child of God.

Yes Abracadabrantesque I see what you are getting at. I do believe the similarities between Christ Jesus and Buddhism are alike just because It is something that had been known to them, and came to them from the inside.

trinity are denying the word of God? >St. Mathew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

These very words out of the mouth of Jesus Christ Himself. St. Mathew 5:2, "And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying."

ssrvj I do not believe what you are saying that Jesus and Buddha are brahman because the indies would have figured that out ages ago if it were real. Jesus Christ is just a saint to the indies, not God Himself.

BTW ssrvj, Jesus Christ has made His way to the west.......As it were, and always has been the epitomy of images on an earthly and spiritual peak. I being from the big bad west, I know Jesus Christ as God. ;)!

i could say Hinduism or Buddhism. i will talk extra for Hinduism using fact that i'm Hindu. Hindus have not have been given any penalty for apostasy, and those wishing to return to Hinduism are welcomed. Hindus admire all faiths, it is evidenced by way of the actuality that India has a lot of religions and little or no inner conflict. Hindus believe strongly interior the concept of nonviolence and in karma, the two considered one of which might make contributions strongly to human beings appearing extra valuable. various the flaws i discussed for Hinduism could additionally persist with to Buddhism. in certainty, all religions are meant to be tolerant and non violent, yet each and every so often there's a organic force to unfold the religion and for some, meaning putting down different faiths in choose of their very own (a minimum of that's what i could guess). this would not persist with to all parts of faiths that are known for energetic proselytizing, in simple terms some. No faith preaches violence, that is going against user-friendly ethical fiber, yet various lack of know-how, misinterpretation, and verbal replace effects interior the non secular conflicts all of us understand on the instant.

Budhism started 600 years before JC
Buddhism is not a religion but a philosophy
This is why you are not killed in the name of Buddha as christians kills in the name of Jesus.
Jesus used the doctrins of Zarathoustra and Buddha througt his meeting with Maria Madgalena who was instructed in these practices

Those good people who are also ignorant of His Word, yes, will go to Heaven. It's not their fault they haven't read the Bible or been taught the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you know and then ignore it, then that's the problem.

All good and true religions, and good and moral people who do have the law of God on their hearts, to love their neighbours even as God loved us through giving His Son Jesus Christ, are God's children. Those who do the will of God, are His children, even if ignorant of His Word, the Logos, Jesus Christ.

They may not attain the same level of Heaven as those who are saved in His Son (yes there are levels of both Christianity and maturity in the faith, as there are of Heaven -- read Paul's epistles where he didn't know what level even he was caught up to!), but they will be with God.

If you ask sri.Bhuddha and sri.Jesus, they will say we both are one-because there can be only one Brahmam. Why like two small children(siblings) quarrel on a trivial issue. We both (Buddha &Jesus) are "Saasvathoyam(Eternal) and pained to hear your "Childish" quarrels.

P.S.:-Dear White_painted_Iady :-You seems to have not understood the concept of Brahmam---".Sarvam Kalvitham Brahmam"--the Creator and all that is created by Him are Brahmam---as per this logic(Nyaayam) Bhuddha and Jesus both are Creators and Saviors(GOD incarnates) in diferent periods --say Bhuddha was 600 years before Jesus-God Krishna says :-"Sambhavami Yuge,Yuge" =GOD comes in carnal bodies at required intervals---Aham Srjaami= I (God) come in carnal body when the necessity arises.-so what I say is ABSOLUTELY correct---Both are Brahma(m). Swaroopam

Actually, the Buddha predates the Gospels, so I would word it this way: "Wouldn't the message of peace found in the Gospels be considered a reaffirmation of the Buddha's Noble Eightfold Path?"

too bad that buddah, is their "god" and he's dead right! but It looks like what your saying is that you don't need JESUS to get to heaven RIGHT! JESUS is the way, the truth, and the life, NO MAN cometh unto the "FATHER" but by him (JESUS) and I don't mean the pope either!
