No, and it's sad for me to say so.

The world population is growing steadily and more and more nations are becoming industrialized. At the same time, the world's resources are diminishing. What does this bring for the future?. It means that nations will be competing for food, oil, and other raw materials needed to feed citizens and operate industries. These are the things that will be the cause of future conflicts.

You can already see this happening now. There is no peace in Africa because of the lack of food and basic human necessities there. The wars in the Middle-East are because of oil.

This is just the beginning. It will become much worse in the decades to come.

Given the history of the Human Race, I'm pretty negative about this. We can't even seem to obtain domestic peace. Parents and children are fighting all the time, so are husbands and wives and partners, not to mention students and teachers. Could war be in our blood? All animals must kill to survive. Are humans wired to kill? I don't know, but I DO feel that world peace is an illusion, Miss America's wishes to the contrary.

Well Aristotle said that "We make war so that we may live in peace." And, there's a Latin phrase from way back when, Sic vis pacem para bellum, that means "If you want peace, prepare for war." Some of you probably remember that from The Punisher. But I guess it's really a catch-22. We have to fight for peace, but fighting only breeds more fighting. So the answer is no.

Sadly, no. It is not in human nature. Every man/woman/culture has a desire to dominate one another. It has been that way since the beginning of time. It will be that way until the end of time....

If we can conquer every other nation either through force or by enticing them to merge with us (carrorts and sticks) we can merge the globe into a single political entity and then we can accomplish peace.

I don't think we will as long as people are so worried about what each believes in and lives life with a close mind. I believe that it is a lost cause.

I highly doubt we will in our lifetime if stupid men continue to run the world.
Not all men are stupid btw, just the ones who tend to run countries.
