Actually protein is predominately from fish , poultry and animals .
Plant proteins are not adequate for humans .

If you do not have an aversion to fish , make a cold seafood salad .

Beans make a great side dish, eventhough they're not a veggie. There's lots of different kinds that would go with a variety of foods! You could even make something like a 3-bean salad.

Edamame ( fresh soybeans) are very high in protein- if you want a veggie side dish ( not egg or seafood)- this is a good one!

Edamame with Rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion
- 1 tomato (substitute 1 cup canned tomato with juice)
- 1 cup uncooked rice, brown or white
- 3 cups broth and/or tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 2 cup shelled edamame, fresh or frozen
salt and pepper
Chop onion and tomato, saving any juice from the tomato.
Heat oil in a skillet or saucepan and cook onion, stirring, for several minutes. Add rice and stir to coat all grains with oil. Cook 5 minutes. Add broth and any juice from the tomato (to make 3 cups liquid), parsley, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and cook 15 minutes (35 minutes for brown rice).
Add edamame and cook until crunchy-tender, about 10 minutes. Taste for seasoning. Serve warm.

Lentils have almost as much protein as meat. You could try a lentil salad, or lentil burgers, or lentil stew. Check the Alton Brown section of the Food Network website. He had an entire show just about lentils
