How do i reset my insignia tv remote control and what is the codes for it?

I am using the remote that came with my tv, model NS-42EPTV. It stopped working and the instructions for the codes on the insignia website are crap.

First, you really don't know if it is the remote that is not working or the IR receiver on your TV.

Codes usually apply to other devices you can control with the remote, NOT the TV.

Take out the batteries and leave it with no batteries for a few minutes, that should clear all presets for other devices.
Try to program it to control another device, say a DVD player.
If that works, maybe the problem is with your TV.
