Liberals embrace the idea of "world peace"- as unrealistic as that is. Many liberals that I've had the pleasure of talking (arguing actually!) to consider what our military does a threat to their ideal world peace. It's because our military was established for fighting and protecting America- and that doesn't fit the liberal ideal list.

Why do people ask generalized questions like that.
That's the standard ultra-right wing argument, if a person is opposed to the War in Iraq that automatically means that they hate the military... It's an argument that children make.
I think the War in Iraq is a horrific disaster that has created far more harm than good in the world, without any doubt in my mind. But at the same time, every soldier there has my full support because they're the ones that carry out the job they're given. It's the politicians who are the fools that push these decisions through for their own motives, the soldiers on the ground don't pick and choose, they do the job they've been assigned.

They hate because they think that all world problems can be solved by sitting around a keg and drinking or smoking pot. They don't understand that there are bad people out there that need to be brought out of control. The world has decided that the US is the gate keeper and expect us to take action when one of the bad boys get out of line. They don't look at the UN they look to the US. Liberals don't like the idea that we spend their hard earned money helping other people that money is theirs to give away to people that don't want to work and want to live off the gov. People use the liberals/ democrat labels as the same thing its not , there are a lot of democrats that think we should have a strong military, help other countries, and spread democracy around the world not to expand our reach but to help the rest of the world become a free people so they can reach their full potential.

Not all liberals hate the military. It depends on what you mean by liberal.
Conservative Democrats generally like the military.
Moderate Democrats seem to like the military but don't understand it.
Democrats, compared to the Republicans generally try to pay for benifits for the soldier where Republicans generally try to fund the Military as a whole. Basically paychecks vs operating budget. Some Democrats do not like the military because in an election it is generally unfavorable to them as voters. They dont pander to it because we usually vote Republican more.
As you get further left, you have groups that think the military is nothing but people who cannot who have no choice in life and were in effect "drafted" due to economic status. The reality is that they are people that decided to join to get out of a situation. They took action to get out of something. The other part where this group is wrong about the military is that the military represents a cross section of America. Poor people from the USA are in the military, but it is largely middle class like the rest of America.
The extreme left hate the military because the military represents three things to them, war, martial law, and government control. They cannot see past that and feel that all in the military are stooges of some type of Nazi regime or some type of consiracy.
There are always exceptions to each group, but those are generalities. The military tends to be more Republican then Democrat because it generally takes a more conservative mindset to submit to a regimented lifestyle like the military. Of the Democrats in the military, they tend to come from the more conservative side of the party.

Many liberals do not hate the military .The liberals that
do hate the military might have been taught by their
parents and their professors to hate it .Perhaps some
liberals consider the U.S. military a threat to world peace .
I believe that the United Nations is a greater threat to
world peace .

your question is base and does not even search for a legitimate answer. I should know. I'm a liberal soldier who has been in combat. I love this country, I love this military. Grow up.

War is so unnecessary, it acoplishes nothing but pain and suffering. No one wins forever. And choosing to find REAL solutions to the worlds problems is just something that is to big for MEN to accomplish. So...... Go Hillary!!!!
