how do i use PIP for a sony 32" tv? I can only watch one channel on both screens.?

PIP is one of the most misunderstood features.
Unless you have TWO tuners or two sources, you can only watch one channel.

So, if your TV has only one tuner, the PIP window needs another source. It can be the Tuner output from a VCR or any other source (DVD player, etc.)
