People can listen to all the evidence and facts they can consume but the real truth is that they try to prove God out of existence.

Read Carefully......
“Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mind-bog-gglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as the final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God.

The argument goes something like this: `I refuse to prove that I exist,' says God, `for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.'

`But,' says Man, `The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.'

`Oh dear,' says God, `I hadn't thought of that,' and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.

`Oh, that was easy,' says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets

himself killed on the next zebra crossing.”

People believe in gods or not depending on which way makes more sense to them. I think both sides of this discussion stray from truth when they think the facts "prove" their point of view. Rather, your belief (or non-belief) comes first, after which it appears to you that the universe supports your point of view. Atheists and Christians both look at the same world and come to different conclusions. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible for any of us to comprehend how the "other side" can believe as it does.

There is neither proof nor disproof. If there were proof, they wouldn't call it "faith". And there is no disproof because you can't prove a negative.

It is only modern man in his fooly of what he cannot understand or accept that is looking for denial, thinking they are too "smart" to believe such nonsense! but in ALL cultures there is a common story , by writting or orally ,that we were CREATED! There is Intelligent design , or is not all in order and splendor , now wheter it was a god or many , that is a debate ! but in man there is a Divine self, that the rest of nature is without! The monkeys are still monkeys , we are the same humans of millenia ago! To teach children that there is no God is mass suicide ! After all if there is nada , well then ;what is to stop us from commiting atrocities against one another? All cultures have a believe in a God, Spirit, Nature etc, BUT the belief of something greater than us is everywhere in our planet!

They say that there is no proof of god, because there is no proof of god. There is not even good evidence to support the existence of any god.

If you think there is, please do not waste time posting these kinds of questions, and provide that evidence or proof. I would be very interested in reviewing that.

I do reject faulty, illogical, irrational proofs. Wouldn't you?
I do not believe in lies.

I have no beliefs in god/s. How much faith does it take to NOT believe? How much faith does it take you to NOT believe in the invisible pink unicorn?

Actually, the stars out tonight are proof of God, and so will be the sunrise in the morning.
Psa 19:1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psa 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Psa 19:3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Psa 19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Satan has control over them:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
In His Service,
John the Baptist

There is no empirical evidence that proves a high power (God) exists.

Religion is based on faith, not scientific fact.

I respect an individual's right to follow any religion or philosophy and as an individual you may believe God's existence to be fact, but your beliefs and/or opinions do not equate to being an actual fact.

As a rule , I shy away from questions that have to do with belief in God since it is primarily a matter of faith -you either believe or you don't. But people who don't believe in God always fall back to science and then use sophistry to justify their responses. However, what they fail to acknowledge is that science is also based on faith and belief.Let me cite the following;1) no one has ever seen an atom but we believe in its basic structure and accept it as fact.2) science has not proven the big bang theory, which is why it is still a theory.has science ever shown what exploded to create the universe, where it came from, .what or who created or made it,remember matter like energy can can not be created or destroyed3)archaeological excavations have shown the validity of a lot of the contents of the bible, but science is selective in what it will accept even by its own methods4)the perfect order of the universe and even of the human body can not be fully explained by the randomness of scientific theory5) what science can't refute or explain now it claims will be explained by future scientific discoveries; so why won't it accept the possibility of ablosute proof of God in the future.6)Darwin's evolutionary theory does not answer all of the questions inherent in nature today.7) science demands immediate proof of God now or he does not exist even though scientific experiments is a trial and error process and can take many years to support (if possible) anything it claims. While I don't deny the contributions science has made , neither can it conclusively deny the existence of God or that its contributions were not part of his plan. The mere fact that we can not put him in a petrie dish is not scientific proof that he does not exist. And yes, I have studied science and feel it has its place in human life.

Why does it take more faith to live in reality than it does to believe in talking snakes?
If there was any proof of a magic man, whichever religion proven to be true wouldnt be considered a faith, but a fact
You say theres proof but wont post any...why's that?

Perhaps there is proof of God but it is being rejected because the faith is not there.

What difference does it make if there is proof or not? Does one not require faith to believe in God?

2007-09-29 20:49:25 · answer #9 · answered by Norm 3 · 0 1

Because there is no proof.

No religion stands up to the scientific method.

The ABSENCE of belief in an invisible man that lives in the clouds, grants 'wishes', and performs magic, requires NO faith at all.

Religion is a delusion caused by years of brain-washing.
