The majority of Americans and Europeans come from a Judeo-Christian background, mostly Christian, and that includes Atheists; and, even though we may now reject certain aspects of Christianity, it is still part of our belief system.

If someone of a different religion wishes to discuss their beliefs with us, I don't think anyone is trying to stop them, but there is no reason why I would be any gentler with them than I am with Christians - which is not very!

Did you mean that respectively? Why can't atheists be pink? D: I like pink...

Anyway... When responding to a question, I tend to use religious or theist rather than Christian, if I'm referring to believers. However, there are some instances where it is specifically Christians I am referring to.

Christianity is the most restrictive religion out there when it comes to heaven, and the most open when it comes to hell. Jews don't believe in hell; Muslims believe Jews and Christians are going to heaven; most other religions don't have hell.

That's why a lot of atheists dislike Christianity more than other religions.

Atheists resent the christian stranglehold on western government more, and atheists just really can't stand religion influencing the state. P*sses 'em off more than anything, cos it means religion and irrationality is pushed into the mainstream and is accepted. And the christians are the largest self righteous fundie faction here.

Both are filled with an abundance of doubts!
Both are looking for some real answers!
Finding faults within others is what surfaces when a person is full of doubts!
If humans would stop finding faults with other humans, then the doubts within them would be removed, for this is how "Faith" becomes established within man

By the way, I am part "Shoshone" (The people of the blanket).

There would appear to be more of us than other types, though I have noticed an increase in Muslims posting and being asked about.

There is only two groups of people...you're either a Saint or you ain't. Heaven will not have seperate rooms for Hindus, Baptists, Methodist, Catholics, Muslims, Pentecostals, etc. etc. There will be many mansions, but the only residents will be Christians, those who are redeemed by Jesus Christ. There is more to life than religion. There is Jesus, and without Him every religion is sinking sand.

Yeah I know! Too bad if you are spiritual instead. I think YA needs a separate 'spirituality' section and leave this section to the religious and atheists.
