I've slowly come to be under the impression that, despite their claims of "proof of God is impossible! You have to BELIEVE!," Christians here don't actually WANT to find proof. I think it IS possible to prove the "beginning," if we take the time and thought to study it extensively.
But, I think many Christians here fear that the proof would not come out in their favor, and therefore choose to deny the mere EXISTENCE of proof.
Anyone understand what I mean??

Kerilyn--I live in Iowa. Here, you ARE religious. You have NO CHOICE. You will OBEY.
Get the idea?
Everyone is religious. I don't have a single relative, to my knowledge, that is not a firm believer in God. I grew up attending weekly church services, youth groups, Sunday school, not to mention mandatory attendence of ALL church events. I watched my relatives read their Bibles, wear their cross necklaces...
In person, I have NEVER met an atheist. I've been sheltered from it--if someone's not a believer in God, then according to how I was raised, that person wasn't worth my time.

Trust me, love, I know how Christians think.

M Theory goes through the Big Bang, has a cause for it, and can discus what was around "before" it. It comes close to doing just that and most everyone has never even heard of it. It is probably more important by a factor of ten than Einstein's work all put together.

I think the main reason that it is so uncovered in the news is that it will be very uncomfortable for the religious if it all turns out true. All the math finally works (it didn't for String Theory) and there are several predictions that have already been verified. When this new particle accelerator goes on line in Europe, there will be lots more.

you say that the christians just "shut up" when the fact is we keep answering these stupid questions. All of you nonbelievers doon't really want to hear what we have to say.
We don't have to prove anything that's God's place. And if it is possible to prove God based on your own intelligence and thought process, and you seem so sure you can prove the beginning then I challenge you to prove there is a God. The difference between a christian and a non christian is We don't need proof because we can feel his presence every day in our lives when we pray and read his word, When something that we've been praying about becomes real in our lives. or a door closes when we were not sure about something. You go ahead and rely on your own intelligence. I'll take the the path Jesus made for us. Men will always let you down , But God will stand by our side no matter what.

yes I do 100%... but... Thomas denied Jesus's presence '.. I'll believe it when I see it...' Jesus appeared to him & asked him to come test his wounds, Thomas declined & said he believed, Jesus said "..blessed are those that have seen me & believed, doubly blessed are those that have not seen me & believe..."
When Christians are being tested in this way how can they be expected to receive contrary evidence to their belief without feeling distraught? Regardless of their Religion, they are still human as are we that don't share their faith.
Compassion from both sides of the fence I believe is in order.

I understand that you have no idea what a Christian allready knows.. When you have a personal relationship with God through the Holy spirit (Jesus Christ) the truth is embedded into your heart. It is something that you will never understand until you come to the truth of Christ. Why wont you just open your heart to him. And enjoy the truth.

I don't think science should be bound by morality. We should take the most realistic approach, not the most favorable.

I know their is proof. God gives people dreams and visions that he is real.

Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?
Here is how you can receive Christ:
1. Admit your need (I am a sinner.)
2. Change your attitude that you can save yourself. Change your attitude to the fact that only Christ can save you by what He did on the cross (Repent...means a change of mind or attitude)
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and rose from the grave.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Him as Lord and Savior)

I'm beginning to think everyone on this board has to take a chill pill and find another hobby, like anime or crocheting.
