Evil is a sociopath that puts his wants needs and desires first without thought or empathy for consequence or long term effect. that's my definition , also an unbalanced personality that craves wealth or power to achieve total control over the physical world. with his every whim gospel hes evil. without light , lacking in empathic qualities negative and corrosive vindictive petty and cruel,a master manipulator and con artist . no connection to his heart. What creates these personalities can be explained by nurture environment and negativity, horrific injuries to self or within the environment in his formative years. to fix this we have to realize how sensitive we are as people how sensitive we are to negativity especially as children and the devastating effects it can have on the personality and human potential throughout life.

Evil is relative in the eye of the beholder and it is combated the same way.

no two people see evil the same way though they may combat it similiar.

Evil can be an emotion, an event, an action, a time period, a Nation or Government, a person or persons, or it can be just raw natural evil that just permeates from a location that is so full of negative energy it repulses anything good away from it.

That is how i would define it and combating it with your wits, brains and freedom for every Nation along with no starvation and wars any more.

Free will allows people to choose evil. Some evil can be prosecuted by the law, but most must be willingly given up. The only way to completely eradicate evil is to either have everyone choose good all the time or separate those who would choose evil from those who choose good. That's the purpose of this life, to separate the two (heaven and hell).

Evil is the absence of God.

You combat it by living the Gospels.....praying, receiving the sacraments regularly, especially the Holy Eucharist, praying the rosary, reading Holy Scripture and performing works of charity.

Exorcism Prayer to St. Michael:

St. Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou O' prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who roam the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Evil is harming another in anyway deliberately, or interfering with that person's free will. We can combat it thru law and ethics...Unfortunately many people don't believe in either.

Evil is the absence of love.

You combat evil by loving it to death.

Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Luk 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luk 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not [to take thy] coat also.
Luk 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask [them] not again.
Luk 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

Evil is knowingly hurting other people.

We combat it by raising self-awareness.

Evil is hatred or malice towards others, especially when excused by projecting responsibility on others or even God.

To combat evil, seek first to understand yourself, and others. Resist malice, cultivate compassion in one's self, and encourage it in others.
