Are we after finding a Solution always ?
Is life a Problem ? Or a Puzzle ?
Is it a continueous way of resolving those difficulties?

Or, is our life a Mystery?
Or an Adventure? Discovery?
A non stop searching of possibilities?

What it is???

Life is a chance given to us by the Excellence to re-discover our true nature...which is LOVE
and sometimes he uses pains and sufferings as tools for this search

**********************************************************************
The night is dark and your slumber is deep
in the hush of my being.
Wake, O Pain of Love,
for I know not how to open the door,
and I stand outside.
The hours wait,
the stars watch,
the wind is still,
the silence is heavy in my heart.
Wake, Love, wake!
brim my empty cup,
and with a breath of song
ruffle the night

You have already written the answer in your question. I used to ask myself when I was very young "Who am I? What purpose I do here?" This is still a mystery to me even after 40 years from the time first I got those questions in my mind. The possible answer to your question may be as follows: "Life" is different for each one born in this world. It is not unique. For some, it is a question. For some, it is a mystery. For many in India, it is the day to day fight to survive (just to get a square meal for that day) in this competitive place. One writer in Tamil wrote long time ago like this: "You have to travel in life just like you swim in a river. You have to go along with the flow of water and never try to make the river straight or swim against the stream".
But most of the time, we get whirl pool, flooding in some places, smooth calm soft flow and even crocodiles in some places. We have to face all these in life.
So, all those you have mentioned in your question come in this life.
Most of the time, I become inactive when there are problems, questions, mystery or puzzle. I will allow those things to settle down by themselves. This is my way of "LIFE"

Our ancestors have been doing R & D for finding a solution to the question you have asked… different religions in different parts of the world are results of this process of discovery… as each of the initiator of a religion had a particular theory about the human life…

Other philosophers, authors, scientists and social activists discovered about it in their own way… in fact we all are doing R &D in our own way to find an answer to your question… as this question is at the back of the mind of each of us,,,

What do I think? Is as follows:
I think that the current way of living of humans in their respective part of the world and in their respective societies is the outcome of all the R & D conducted by the native ancestors… we may just live a normal life… and follow the contemporary systems prevailing in our societies... without any prejudice…

Wonderful questions as always. For me it is both, I am a question finding the answer and I am a mystery being explored, sometimes slowly and sometimes in those timeless moments that happen suddenly when I go Oh` this is what it's been about!

what it is: a voyage of discovery.

Kind of like a game of sorts, except with really serious bits, like an RPG game. Clues everywhere, some are red herrings. Level up, find the Master Sword, get stronger, but no wiser. Return to GO, do not collect $200.

Sathya Sai Thought for the Day,

"The One is the basis of the many. To recognize this unity, one needs practice and effort. For weeds to grow, no effort is required on our part. But, if grain is to be harvested, the field must be ploughed, weeded, watered, applied manure and fenced. So also, to get a harvest of virtue, intense Sadhana (spiritual practice) is needed, though no such effort is necessary to contract vices. Man has to struggle hard in order to attain the higher stages of spiritual development. He has to overcome many hurdles and put up with many difficulties and disappointments."

To you I drink. Insights lost to those who are not really here to give answers. I think all you mention is things you face in life. The word you did not use but hint at is that of journey. A journey involves all you mention and that to me is life.

It's a trial period to test you to see what you are going to do with it. Use your talents or not and which way for good or bad. Then you die and will be judged. So, your life lies on a delicate balance of good and evil and you will be the judge on how you want to go.

This is one of those questions I stopped asking when I became an atheist.

Life is, simply, what you make of it. I intend to enjoy it.
