But, instead of asking Him to conform to your plans, why not pursue the ones He has for YOU?

i am only 13 but i know the perfect answer to this question God could give you these powers but why should he would you use them for good? probably not if he wanted to he would but if it was the most important thing in your life thenmaybe. then again there really is no such things as powers! sorry!

Like Knight already said, The Lord gave each creature certain abilities. Human beings have a brain; the ability to think gives us a HUGE advantage over the other creatures in this world.

Whatever your problems are it is doubtful they could be solved by having super powers.
Rather than wait for god to help you why not take a serious look at your problems and see if there's anything you might be able to do about them. After all, god is probably very busy doing things for George W. Bush, helping him against the terrorists and all.

God could do a lot of things, but He would not waste His time and power on something so frivolous. If you want strength, work out; if you want flying, get a hang glider; if you want speed, take up running. God helps those who help themselves.

What was it you actually wanted God to help you with?
For one thing, God is not answerable to you; it's the other way around.
Second, God is not going to do anything contrary to His word. If you need His help, He can and will help you, but you must ask Him according to His will. You learn His will by studying His word.
Thirdly, and most important, you need to be sure you are in His family. To learn how to do that, read the gospel of John, chapters 1 thru 3, and 14.

Sometimes, God's unanswered prayers are better than you think. He gives us what we can handle. He knows what to give us and what not. He may know that to giving one thing to someone may turn out bad, but giving the same thing to someone else, would turn out good. He gives us all gifts. Many have the gift to fly planes. Many have strength to pick up a lot of weight. Many have the gift to help heal. Many have gifts that help comfort us in our times of sorrow. Many have the gift to teach others. Many have gifts to fix things. The list goes on. Sometimes we do not know what our purpose is. I do believe that we are all here for a purpose and he gives us many paths to take. He gives us the right to choose which path. It may not be the right one, but he is always here for us. He will listen to any prayers you have. Just remember, sometimes, thank God for unanswered prayers.

I just wanted to check that you don't have some sort of psychological condition like bipolar? Cos sometimes I get grandiose thoughts about superpowers from God. These are NOT true. I have faith in God, but it's pretty much guaranteed that God will not give you superpowers. Please ignore the people telling you to jump of bridges etc.

He would only give you the power that you could handle. You are being "tested" all of the time with small blessings and challenges. How you deal with the small stuff will ultimately show if you are able to do more.

god does not grant anyone with powers like that? it is the inner holy spirit that does that. have you been reborn? i didnot think so. go to intouch ministreys.com to doctor stanley. this is the best christian site!! you will find videos there you can watch and listen to. if you truly want god to help you in your path of life, you have to be born again, and you must surrender unto him. ask him for the help of the holy spirit. you will find you will have powers you never new you had.
