I agree with everyone else you need to call the police or tell a respected adult who is willing to help take action and get her out of that enviorment for good. I'm so sorry for what is happening I wish I could be of more assistance i really do. I'm available if you need to talk to someone this is awful what you friend is going through she definitely needs to be out of such a harmful enviorment. Its lucky she has such a concerned friend who is there for her. the best thing you could do is call the cops and get her out of that house maybe you could ask your parents if they would adopt her as their foster child temporarily, at least. Im here if you need somone to talk to even if its just someone to listen. Tell your friend the same.

I think your friend needs to go to the police and report the stepbrother and the abuse.

If she can live with her dad, and if it's safe there, then she really needs to call her dad immediately! Or else, switch schools to the one near to her cousin's if she's staying there?

Where does the step brother live? At her mom's?

Maybe your friend could get some help from the school counselor, also.

Have her talk to a school counselor and try to get an appointment with a child welfare advocate aka a social worker. See if she can be made a ward of the court and placed in a foster home. Notifying the police of the sexual assault is not a bad idea either but it will be her word against his so I wouldn't count on it going very far.

Good luck to all. This sounds like one ugly mess.

I would have to say that you have to tell the police or tell your mother. Virtually there isn't anything you can do, but to tell someone what is going on. They will be able to take the right course of action and kow how to handle the situation at hand. I am very sorry that your friend has to deal with this and you can only sit and watch. You do need to tell someone. Even if you don't tell your parents, you should tell your school counselor.

Call CPS if you are truely worried. They let you leave reports and remain annoymous if you want. Remember when you call them to have any phone numbers, addresses, evidence, etc. to be added into your report. Good luck and I hope your friend is allright. It's always tough to sit by and watch someone close go through such trauma. You know in your heart what to do.......call the authorities and always error on the side of the victim.:)

Is it possible that your family could take her in until she can finish school?? Have you explained the circumstances to see if they would be willing to do that?? I know I would be in that situation.
