Christianity is not all about faith, but that is a cornerstone. Christian morality is such a hot topic because those that are not Christian think that Christians think they are perfect. So when one slips up they pounce all over it. Peace

Why do Jewish have such a hard time accepting the Christian faith if Jesus was a Jew? If the Jews are God's chosen people, and it states this clearly in the Bible many times throughout the Old Testament, and Jesus was known to be a Jew, WHY do so many Jewish refuse to accept Christians as a valid religion? WHY do so many Jewish refuse to accept Jesus as the messiah... ? I have found that my Jewish friends are not accepting of Jesus Christ as the saviour. So...what I don't get is that if Jesus was Jewish (which many Jewish seem to conveniently overlook), then how can Jewish say that Christians are wrong?? I have never understood how this can be. You need to read a bit more history. Jesus disturbed the status quo of the sanhedrin. They were afraid Jesus might be declared the true messiah... but under Roman occupation they had no laws that would permit them to administer the death penalty. Their solution was to turn Jesus over to the Romans for punishment. The Romans, hoping to keep the Jews under control with as little trouble as possible, agreed to execute Jesus. So although the Romans carried out the execution, it was the Jews who asked to have it done. For brevity, I have presented only the basic facts.

Obviously because alot of things a non-Christian thinks are "ok", a Christian's faith in God's word says is a no-no. At some point, the two are going to collide. How can they not? Both live on the same planet, so probability dictates that sooner or later the two are going to clash on different points.

Christianity is all about trusting & obeying Jesus.
We are saved (born again) through confession & faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Christians, when born again are a new creation in Christ Jesus. Their sins are washed away & they are a new man in Christ Jesus. And then they are to renew their minds in the Word of God & be renewed in the Spirit. When we are convicted by the Holy Spirit of sin in our spiritman, we are to confess our sin. He (Jesus) is faithful & just to forgive us our sin & cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But this is done also by renewing ones mind in Gods Word. The Holy Spirit brings the Word of God to ones mind.
So? Some Christians are carnal & some are more mature than others. But this is maturing in Christ. As we reap what we sow. Because God will not be mocked. And we receive the blessings as our soul prospers. That means that we make moral choices.

you imply that faith in Jesus is a purely internal subjective matter. Christians of course differ - we believe that Jesus came to reconcile all humankind to the objective ultimate source of our lives - God. Therefore the morality that follows from the revelation of God in Christ is an objective morality that is good and true for all humankind, like gravity.

Because non-Christians do not believe in freedom; they feel that for Christians to raise their children in accord with Christian morality constitutes "brainwashing".

Because christians equate their 'morality' with their 'faith'.
They may be 'faithful' but they're not ethical.
Brain-washing and assaulting people (telling people they're going to hell) seems to be a pre-requisite to being a christian or any fundamentalist in any religion, for that matter.

You might be getting caught off your guard.... Discussing "Christian morals" is necessary to keep "Christian values" in the news and on the minds of the average-Joe-Christian.
"Christian values," of course, is a pseudonym for Christian political agenda, i.e., prayer in school, anti-abortion, anti-stem cell research, generating credence for Creation Science, etc..
It's all a lot of bald propaganda -- Christian propaganda, of course.

Morality is the most important reason for religions to exist, but some people don't seem to understand it. They find it perfectly fair to gossip and be mean, right after they get out of the church
