have seen more than several crank position sensors over the years and a few chrysler type coils /harness pigtails and bad connections at the gang ground on passenger side of engine near rear of distributor[ this is the computer ground not the battery ground which is further forward]

take my answer ,now was the car doing that before if not then when u ran out of gas u picked up somethingat the bottom of the gas tank , now it could be now stocked in ur fuel injector.,filter,lines, or maybe the fuel pump screen.
the best way before u touch everything is take the car to highway and slow down when no one is on it usually do it at night and give it a hard gas push don't floor it keep it going at around 75 so u won't get a ticket keep it at 75mph for like 2-5 minutes see if it would come off and run better .

Assuming it would restart you are most likely looking at an intermittent electrical issue. Most common is the ignition coil but it would be worth the price [$65. here] of an engine scope to see if something shows up weak. You may want to try wiggling wires & relays while it's running, but most likely it is a part that fails when hot. Don't throw parts at it, diagnose!

Fuel filter or maybe jets are clogged...more likely the filter.
