it does not have hardly any calories so eating it and doing exercise, even walking would cancel it out ha ha. good luck.

Celery has so few calories, that eating it either burns as many calories as your eating, or perhaps more. The actual celery itself does not burn more calories.
I see after posting my answer that I could have just said "ditto." :-)

No it doesn't, however, it takes more calories to do the eating than the celery has to begin with.

Anything you eat has you burning calories simply by the mechanics of eating.....i.e. your mouth is moving, that takes energy, that energy burns calories.
Now if you are hoping that you can devour an entire plate of brownies and it'll all go away from eating some celery, you have another thing coming.

It does not burn calories, it has so little that when you eat it, you don't gain any your burning the calories it has in it when you eat it. If you want to burn calories go for a walk.

celery is very stalky and cellulose is indigestable by us....so since celery is so low calorie, it takes more calories to actually do something with all that cellulose than celery actual has in it...hence "burning calories" when you eat it
(this almost makes sense....lol, i hope u understand)

From what I hear, it does. Apparently, it burns calories because it takes that much energy to digest it
