all powerful, stop the war in Iraq and the killing of so many innocents in Iraq? (and in other wars as well. I am here, young, living through THIS WAR.and I have been praying for Iraq since the first bomb dropped. Yet, it continues, day after day, week after week, month after month, and now, year after year) I
In fact -- and please don't start your answer with that tired and rhetorical "we all have free will" nonsense because -- after millineums and millineums of killings, murders, and other henious acts, it is rather odd that God has not sent his son to stop this carnage! Just like it is odd that God, in His infinite wisdom, has not taken away 'free will' altogether!
Wars have always been you say?
and for what reason? Other than to kill generations of people - most of them innocents.
Is there such a thing as reincarnation after all? Do we come back, wiser and more knowledgeable, peaceful? or we come back full of evil and ill-will against those who came before us??

Is that it? That we come back. That the good become evil, the evil, good?

one can read the Bible many times over and still come away with unanswered questions. Even priests, ministers, reverends, pastors, etc.
The Bible speaks in tongues to an extent...it is disheartening that in an age where so many cannot speak properly, that we are expected to read sentences out of the Bible that are fifty words long... and come away with an understanding.

I just finished reading Zechariah (old Testament)
and it was claimed that
when we see Jerusalem surrounded by troops,
when 1/2 are taken in captivity....

the Son will come back,
then the Mount of Olives will split, and a spring will gush forth...
it will run toward both seas, the one to the East and the
one to the West...

It is said that then, finally the world will have used up
all their chances god will finally have his day of ultimate...
except it also says that our sun will stop shining,
and there will be other tragedies....yikes....
perhaps we don't want to be around when it all hits the fan.

Trouble with prayers, is that some are answered
with a "yes" and others are answered, just with a "No"

Just as we can always ask our parents for a new toy,
they can always say yes or no...
so to, we are freely able to ask of God anything...
but he is also free to say, "Not right now..."

He is aware of factors we cannot imagine...
that is why I am not a milionaire yet...wink...
and he keeps everything well in hand.

Jsut be comforted knowing that no one dies alone,
that they do not die in vain, and they aren't out there,
roaming the earth in misery.
Each one of us, when we leave our bodies,
we pass through this amazing loving light,
and are cleansed of what used to hurt and scare us...
and we are healed and made whole...to the point
where we cry no more....isn't that something to imagine?

God is not mean, and this is not a game...
but still He lets us play...and play until he says,
"Enough! Out of my playground!" and then like a
strict referee, he gives us a giant time out...
He will only let us do so much hurtfull,
and then he will say, "NO mas"

Please. Trust him. Even when the answer is delayed,
it is not a punishment to you. You cannot loose his love,
nor can we earn more of it...He isn't playing favorites,
and he isn't turning a deaf ear to your pleas.

Thing is, he said so much...and not one of his words
is ever void. he said Moses would not cross over
to the promised land, and Moses indeed died
before the tribe moved out of the desert.
God said so much...and every word of it will come to pass.

Some think Revelations has already happened.
That it was about Rome, and it's destruction.
Others think it is yet to come...a 10th version of Rome
that has risen up form the sea...has yet to be destroyed.

but you know what?
It's a debate of centuries, and one I haven't time for.

I simply wake up and make this day the very best I can.
I do what I can to help and support and love and care for those around me...I can only change my own words
and actions.
I cannot stop the tides, hold back the moon, or stop a war,
but I can darn well pray for their safety, ask God for comfort,
and then do my best to walk where he tells me to.

Hugs to you.
it will get worse before the relief...but how great will
be the relief.

How often do you pray to God? Everyday or just when you need something? Try praying to God everyday and give him thanks for all the many things you have been blessed with not just when you are troubled, sometimes in our life things get really terrible (been there) and we grow even more distant from him thats his way of pulling you back. Know that God lives within, he understands all things. I don't mean to sound preachy or anything but just as someone mentioned, this is about - the good and the evil. The people of God or the people of Satan. All the things that are happening around us is all part of dividing the good from the evil. You can experience the power of God now or when life comes to an end. Choose now. I will put it to you this way, if you were standing before God and he asked you, "Do you believe in me?" - wouldn't you say yes? You would becuase you would be in such awe of his presence. He wants to know what you are really feeling when he is not right in front of you.

Christians want it both ways.

Free will absolutely, positively cancels out intervention by any divine being.

But if divine intervention is possible, then there is no such thing as free will; the absence of free will means that the so-called "lost souls" were born lost and predestined to burn in hell, by a psychotic deity.

On the other hand, if there is free will, we alone are responsible for all the bad (and all the good) in the world, and there exists the possibility, for believers, that a just and sane God exists.

just because God hasn't come down and sayed "Hey, stop fighting," doesnt' mean he isn't listening or isn't giving us opertunities to stop it. Maybe people are just ignoring the signs, or aren't believing them. As for free will, why would God take that away? What good would that do? God wants us to be our own individuals, not mindless followers. And how do you know Jesus isn't in Iraq right now? JHe might be there and just not be obvious. Can you honestly say that if a stranger came up to you and said "I am the son of God, follow me" that you would without question? God is helping, he just isn't making a big deal about it. Think about how many more innocents would be dead if the US had decided to just bomb Iraq into submission and not try to help.
It could be worse.

First the Iraquis need to come to Christ as their Saviour and then start doing the will of the right God..
Besides each and every person that is going to be born must have their chance to choose. If life as we know it is cut off now, then future generations will have never been born and will never choose..
Besides, death is not the end of the world, if you have chosen correctly in life.
If we were to bring back all of the troops today, the terrorists would probably concentrate on the continental US more than ever.

He Will come and he will put an end to it but when that will be no-one knows. We don't know the mind of Christ, the reasons why he does or does not do things. All will be revealed eventually. I have many questions of my own but I must trust in the Lords wisdom. He sees the bigger picture, we don't. I personally don't believe in reincarnation. I see no evidence of it in the Scriptures and Christ didn't speak of it. I think if the whole world got together in Universal prayer, then we would see something good and mighty but that is never going to happen unfortunately.

Your question is complex and timely. Personally, I think God has a divine plan, so I think when we pray, God answers our prayers, not by giving us what we want (like Santa), but giving us what we need.

To your question about reincarnation (aka rebirth)- Our children are an extension of us and the idea is that we'll teach them to be wiser and they'll teach their children to be wiser and so on and so on. But, so many evil people are having children and they're children become evil adults. So, that accounts for the chaos you are responding to.

There's alot of chaos and disorder in the world but I firmly believe that it will fix itself eventually, not in our time, but in God's time.

UPDATE*** I think ur issue is that you expect there to be some magic answer, some magic pill that can take away problems. There are billions of people in the world and each person has something different going on. So, like I said, God ain't Santa and God helps everyone ***and everything on the planet survive*** by providing food, water, giving us the smarts (including the animals) to seek shelter, giving us a brain to make the right decisions. The rest up the the individual. That's life on earth in a nutshell.

The god of this world is Satan. God does not have His hands on this world. Do you really think, if he did, thing would be as they are, He is letting mortal man see, he is not capable of governing. He will sent Jesus back, just before man totally destroys himself.
God does not lessons to sinners prayers. God hears and answers the prayers of his people, it may not always be the answer you want. God knows the needs of His people, and will always take care of their needs. All of Gods people have angels that watch over them. All we need is faith .
Every one that says, God talks to them, is not telling the truth.
God is only using certain people now, He is not dealing with every one at this time. He is not sending his people out to save any one, Jesus did that when he came the first time, all you have to do is come to Him with repentance in your heart, and you can receive His grace.God tole His disciples to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to the world, and when this is done , the end will come.

God answers the prayers OF HIS PEOPLE. And those answers can be Yes, No, or Later. Since the War is tied to End Times Prophecy, His answer to you is Wait For It.

Maybe God doesn't like you telling Him what to do?

Isn't being God His job, not yours through the back door of prayer?

Maybe you should be a little more humble?

Just maybe God knows what He is doing, and you don't?

Edit :

Thank you for your additional details post.

It is not that I do not have an answer but that from what you write it is obvious you cannot receive the answer.

Neither am I in any way saying there is no God - quite the contrary.
How you can arrive at that from what I wrote is beyond anybody!

I thought I had made it plain enough.
Until you become humble you will not be able to understand.

You can after all seek God for yourself, or have you not thought of that?
Then you will have to humble yourself.

I wish you well.
