I was just wondering if downloading movies and tv shows of lime wire are legal because I just bought the new ipod nano video and I would like to use limewire so I basically want to know if there is a legal way to download videos off limewire and if so how also if its illegal what are the odds of getting caught?

Yes, it's illegal. Downloading commercial music, software, movies or TV shows off of Limewire (or any other method that involves downloading without paying) is illegal. When it comes to movies, you're looking at a fine of up to $250,000.00 and the possibility of jail time. The odds of getting caught are slim, but considering the punishment, well, I'd say it's cheaper to rent DVDs or buy them used.

TV Shows and regular movies (not the home made clips) would be illegal to download. There's no "legal way" of doing it, as there's only one way to download things on Limewire :\
The chance of getting caught with movies is considerably higher than TV Shows and regular music, and it also depends on where you're receiving your internet connection from.

Yes, it is legal. I find some videos I download from limewire is not MP4 file for iPod, you may use a iPod converter to help you convert any videos to iPod.
I always use Daniusoft Video to iPod Converter which a friend recommendme. It could help you convert any video to iPod video with only three steps. Also it let you set the movie effects, crop/ trim video.

It is illegal to download them off limewire, it is not illegal to have limewire though, the chances of you getting caught are slim.
