Not sure what the problem is here? Lupus is a autoimmune condition, therefore treatment is usually immune suppression, which will lower your white cells. Therefore if you are on treatment and have low white cells the Rheumatologist will probably stop the treatment. Likewise if the white cells are low, as such the symptoms of Lupus should improve. However the draw back to all this is getting the right balance treatment and low white cells can leave you open to infection.

The white cells are your T-cells and B-cells. The lower the number the better chance you have of getting infections. This is also the case with Aids - T-cells are the major issue there, where as with Lupus it is B-cells.
