It stipulates it in stupid fundie texts. That's it. Nowhere else.
The Pope says its allowed:

The scientists say its allowed:

The only people who stipulate that its not allowed are the type of people who can come up with this:

You are waking up a little. Go back to sleep!
Just kidding. I would say that Jesus isn't your savior, he is your example. Jesus spoke of the savior, he was refering to the christ in each person being the savior not Jesus in the flesh. Evolution always happens, I don't think we were formed from algea but we have definatley evolved some and so do animals. Follow what you think, stay away from the sheeple.

I am an Evangelical Christian and believe God created all things; then they evolved.
We all know life evolves. Just as culture evolves, and language evolves.
God was the creative force at the beginning, and God is the creative force that makes us evolve...ever closer to what He wants.
You know, mankind has evolved since Colonial times. People were smaller in those days. A man of 6 feet would have been considered quite tall. Today 6 feet is average. See?
We are still evolving.

harshmistress is wrong, reality isn't subjective, if it were, it wouldn't be much of a reality.
You can be follow Christ and believe in evolution, but the two are incompatible. Jesus' death is based on the idea of original sin, and unless you believe the Bible's account of creation, you have no basis for original sin and no basis for a savior, so your faith is void.
So, yes, you can believe both, but you're being inconsistent.

Absolutely. I believe in evolution - I also believe that there is a master 'evolutionist', if you will.
As the Catholic Church said, faith and reason need not collide.

I don't see why not. I have seen plenty Christians here who understand evolution. I have also seen atheists that question it.

"In the beginning God created heaven and earth. . . "
"And God created man in his own image . . ."
What part of that is hard to understand?
Common sense dictates that God is not slime from some primordial pit!
