Did you hear the one about Wonder Woman - it goes the same way except the wifes reply was - "I have been dating him for 5 years" - I do everything around here and all he does is sit on his as& - WONDER WOMAN!!!!!

The idea is that any man that can put up with a woman for 25 years must be super patient. At least that's the impression I got from it. Not a nice joke really.

i understand that the husband who has been married for twenty five years is a real SUPERMAN , more super than the Superman making his rounds.
the joke means that marriage cannot be tolerated that long .

More likely old Supes is amazed that the guy has put up with 25 years of nagging/argument.
Or it could be that Supes is amazed that the guy is still having sex with the same person.
Not that good a joke. May be better understood in context
