I believe that the spirit leaves the body and that is why it stops moving and no longer "lives." The spirit is eternal, but the body is temporary. The spirit moves on the the spirit world or spirit prison (For the REALLY bad ones) and there we wait and learn until the second coming. When Christ comes it marks the start of the 1000 year millennium. Satan will be bound at this time. Then is the day of judgment and then we receive our level of glory. I actually look forward to this because I think it will be peaceful and happy.

Einstein wrote that energy never ceases to exist, it just changes form. They say our body loses 21 grams the moment we die. Many people who have died and been brought back have said that they experienced something profound. Will we know? Yes. One day.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This incluces the good, the bad, and the ulgy.
The bad folks, however, will have mortal souls, which means subject to die ... the second death ... into the lake of fire.

I don't think anything happens. I think you return to the ground, and you are just that. Non-existent.
