71 year old caucasian female
121 lbs
in good health, but diagnosed with severe depression.
been taking flouxetine for the last 4 week at 20 mg per day.
Drug hasn't kicked in yet. When will it kick it? What's the maximum time? Thank you.

hey you...
from our last discussion...i think its time to have the meds changed or maybe the amount given. There are alot of other stuff out on the market today that might just do the trick for her!

It can take up to 6 weeks, though is usually faster. You might need a higher dose or change drugs; check with your doctor before making any changes, though.

SSRIs (including fluoxetine, AKA Prozac) often take up to two months to be effective.
