I couldn't agree with you more! A question I just answered asked something about where she could find a mini or teacup Yorkie for under $500? I'm sick of hearing about "designer" dogs which are really no more than mutts, "teacup" this, "mini" that, when the dog already weighs barely enough to keep from floating away!

Sporting Group: Golden Retriever. They are just amazing dogs, that are very all-round and fit for almost everyone. Hound Group: It's a tie... couldn't decide. It's between Irish Wolfhound and Bloodhound. Bloodhounds are just adorable. Toy Group: I love Papillons. It's the only toy dog I would consider getting. Non-Sporting: Shiba-Inu. They are just so gorgeous and fun. I want one, but it's nearly impossible to get one where I live. Working Group: Husky, my favorite breed (even though Husky isn't just one breed). They are hyper, loud and the friendliest dogs you'll ever find! Herding Group: German Shepherd. Own one, so I have to pick it :p But this is definitely my favorite breed after Huskies. Terrier Group: West Highland White Terrier. But may I say, the AKC groups were sometimes very wrong? Rottweilers for instance, should be in the herding group. That's right, Rotts were herding dogs. I also saw other breeds placed wrong, but can't remember anything specific now... too lazy to check again.

I'm personally waiting for a Teacup Great Dane or Mini Mastiff.
I'm with you...This craze over Minis, Teacups and Mutt-a-poos has to stop!

Cause six pounds is just huge!! Lol...and breeding them way too small leads to health problems. You can't even play with a dog that small...It can just sit around and shiver all day long.

If you are referring to showing dogs in a dog show then each breed has breed standards that their weight must fall into to compete. Otherwise it would just be one persons preferrence over anothers I guess.
