ANYTHING that is soft to begin with or can be made soft thru a chopper or blender. My daughter had them 3 yrs. so am very familiar w/that question. Hope you like eggs, as they are one food that can be eaten/cooked several ways. IF you don't like your cereal crunchy, you can let it soak up the milk & eat lots of cereals that way too. Cut things up in VERY small pieces too, that also helps. Takes longer to eat, but is easier on you. Use your imagination of things that can be cooked or over cooked to make them as soft as possiiblr. Makr a lidt og all tjr figgrtrmt tjimgs U I'll bet you can come up w/a alot of things you never tho't about. Canned meats too & tuna fish & fish period. I cld.name scads of things. Put your thinkin cap on & just start listeing thimgs!

When I had braces (at age 42) I discovered that there are a lot of foods you can put in a blender. You can even put a chili dog (without the bread) in a blender and drink it like a shake.
Gross? Maybe. But when you're starving for something besides Slim-Fast, soup, pudding, mashed potatoes, applesauce, and jello, it tastes great.

the first day is always the worst, but it should be fine by tommorow morning. still a little pain, but not that much. as strange as it sounds, it helps me when in pain to watch something funny, because it takes your mind off of it (yes including braces) i did this and it helped. one thing would be smoothies, because you have so many flavor options. if you have rasberries, or watermelon, any soft fruit or vegitable you like, that doesn't involve a lot of chewing. mashed potatoes, if you get tired of the same taste, try garlic mashed potatoes or another different kind of flavor. probebly the most tastey thing would be lolipops, i had a lot of these frozen orange juice pops that i made when i got my praces put on. if you have an ice tray, pour orange juice into the squares, and cover the top of the tray in plastic wrap, and poke toothpicks into the plastic wrap, put them in the freezer, and they should be ready in about 4 or 5 hours. today you just kinda have to suck it up, but try mind over matter, or try to get your mind off of it. but try watching funny shows. i don't know how old you are, but the season premier of Saturday NIght Live is tonight, you could check that out at NBC.com
tonight might hurt if you sleep on your side, so what helped me was when i watched t.v in bed facing forward laying down.
also, just be happy it isn't a school day that you have to go through with the pain, you got to rest all day and not have to still talk to people about how you got your braces.

I´m getting mine on Monday.
People have suggested me yogurt, jell-o, soup(especialy), mashed potatoes and lot´s of mushy stuff for the first week. Just make sure you don´t eat anything hard or sticky because it can get the brackets off.
Also ask your orthodontist. She or he should have lot´s of suggestions (it IS they´re job LOL!)

Let's see... Scrambled eggs... Oatmeal, Ice Cream (without nuts), Spaghetti, -anything that "melts in your mouth", when you think about it. So I don't think you're going to starve, any time soon (or at LEAST- not before you get used to wearing those braces...). :)
