I tried it. It helped. How it works is that it kills the fleas by cutting the fleas. So it doesn't repel but kills. It is natural and it won't hurt you or your pets unless you inhale it. The problem is that it will ruin your carpeting as it will also cut it.

Use something to repel on hard surface floors and at the same time use dia. earth to kill the ones in your carpet.

If you have a very, very mild flea problem, and I've done this put some dia. earth around the edges of a really big plate in the center of the plate put some banana or some of your dog's hair, it attracts them and then they get killed.

Diatomaceous earth does not work by 'cutting' the fleas - fleas are very hardy and difficult to kill mechanically. Anyone who's ever squeezed a flea between their fingernails knows this. Diatomaceous earth is supposed to work by dehydrating insects.

It isn't a specific flea-killing product, so personally I wouldn't bother. I would get a proper treatment from a vets i.e a spray. These both work, are safe, and won't damage your furniture or carpets.

Don't use anything from a store, especially not for your pets.

Raid makes a great flea spray, it comes in a purple can and it's about $7 and it really gets the fleas. Fleas hide in crevaces and in the baseboards and any little nook and cranny they can find. Get a good spray, you don't want to mess around with a flea infestation.
