It was at a hot sweaty gig but i was drinking water, about 3 hours earlier i had been drinking rum, which i'm used to and has never made me throw up, i also had less than normal for fridays. I had also had a few fags 3 hours before and am wondering if this could have caused it. Please help, because i'm baffled

This has happened to me too in the past. Think it is probably just the rum on an empty stomach and no food consumed after it to "soak" it up. Water on any empty stomach can have a "volcanic" effect, in that it causes an efferescent reaction. That is why people with ulcers and/or hiatus hernia shouldn't drink copious amounts of water without food. Hydrocholoric acid in the stomach is the strongest acid known. If you have had no pain or symptoms since (not sure when this happened to you) don't think there is anything to worry about, though I'm not a doctor so can't be sure. Next time don't have a liquid only diet! Hope everything is okay.

if it keeps happening then get yourself down to a doctor.

people's alcohol tolerance varies due to things like how long ago you ate or if you were on any medication, etc. the hot gig atmosphere may have made you very dehydrated too.

i haven't been sick from drinking in ages but when i do it's usually bright yellow (bile) - lovely!

drink lots of water, hope you feel better :-)

Could be blood, watch the other end, if that is black too, get to the docs. Sounds like an ulcer.
