So just because I'm not a gardener I am not allowed to go on the home improvement/gardens section to see what they're saying and to ask questions?

Atheists, by and large, have seriously looked at religion, studied it, and rejected it. Often, that means that they know more than believers.
The second part is to consciousness-raise. Yes, sometimes atheists make fun of the more laughable parts of religion, like basaam's ***, but that's in part a goad for believers to critically consider why they should the stories in their preferred book seriously.

Insecure? We're the ones who actually have the bravery to face reality while religious people run to fairytales so they can avoid thinking about death and the big lonely universe.
I have a very good idea of my ultimate fate. Death is final. And I'm a brave enough person to be ok with that.

I have also pondered this and have come up with no good reason. Not to be insulting or anything but it can be looked at as the fly that keeps landing on your lips in the morning when you aren't ready to wake up. It's just a minor irritant. Some of us let it be a major ordeal and that probably isn't really necessary. We have a tendency to show our worse sides when we allow people to irritate us to a much greater degree than they ought. I have seen some decent responses from atheists and seen some good questions asked by some of them. It's like everything in life - take the good with the bad and go on.

To keep people on the fence from falling into the intellectual darkness of "belief".
And you actually have no idea about your ultimate fate either.

The funny think about atheists on Yahoo! Answers is that they seemed to be summoned to the religion section by religious people asking "why are atheist" they're here.

They "BASH" because they get a reaction! If people didn't react/respond to it, then they would get board and stop!
And really what do you think their reaction should be to being called "insecure" or being told the will burn in a place they don't even think exists?
Since some Christians react the way they do to people of other faiths or no faith, maybe it is the Christians who are "insecure".
People who are secure in what they believe really don't care what other people think!
Blessings!

The world is full of intelligent, well-educated, tolerant people who don't believe in God but respect the rights of others to do so. Unfortunately, none of them seem to come onto this site. They must have better things to do with their time.

Mine's a neat whiskey.
By the way:
It's forum about religion, not for the religious. We have every right to be here. And we're not insecure - we don't need a big Sky Daddy to hold our hands and cover our eyes.

I couldn't be very insecure if I can show my opinion. Who have I bashed? Or do you just not like my opinion?
