Sure! Since they know everything I can contribute nothing by associating or socializing with them. I am cordial, stay out of speaking to them about anything other than work related and simple matters. Stay nuetral and friendly but do be too busy to be drawn into anything. Just do not have an opinion. Don't buy into their sickness.

Yes, this is the best way, Don't argue with them they want ot be right and will never admit they are wrong so they wont back down from an argument. So just listen if they talk to you but don't answer back and try to avoid them, they could be annoying so dont stress yourself out with them it's not worth it!

Yes, they are very annoying but usually people like that have low self esteem and are trying too hard to prove how intelligent they are (or want you to believe they are)/
I just stay away from this person, and if have to be around them, I don't initiate any conversation with them. I just let them yammer on and on about themselves. There's nothing you can do to stop it or them. Just accept it and keep arms length away.

my mothers husband who i dont refer to as a step father is like that and what i used to do is just go with what he said even if he was wrong to feed his ego, its amusing to see how big their ego gets and they start talking about things they have no clue about and then people dont take them seriously, i know that it can be very annoying but you can be the grown up and have fun while he stupidly gives his opinion!

do your job don't worry about.. it ..maybe the person does have high intellect... or maybe the person is just arrogant ..if the person does know their job you should really listen to them.. maybe you should ask yourself why does this person work here and know it all and why am i so insecure about it and this person.
