Maybe table linnen, perhaps?
I've given that to my mom before, and it's really nice.
Or maybe a nice top.

A nice massage would be nice or something homemade. Made from the heart. I am a mom and I love it so much when my children take the time to really think about me and what I like and then buy me that (like a massage) or make me something because I will treasure that forever. Write a poem or cook her something special so she does not have to cook or make a coupon book good for things like a night off where you will cook dinner and do the dishes, or clean the yard, or clean the bathrooms or take her to the movie. Use your imagination. You know your mum better than any of us. Good luck. I am sure she will love whatever you get her!

I think it's so sweet that you all want to show her how much she's appreciated.I think what would be nice and unique would be special pictures of her with all of you doing different things at different times of your life's together, put in such a form as a photo album you all work on together or maybe a CD with music.this kind of gift will touch her heart and make her feel special,be ready for some tears to be flowing..write little balloon messages by the pics.she will treasure this and I'm sure show it off to her friends and family....to say YES I DID DO A GREAT JOB! and they cared enough to show me how much they Love ME.....:),my Children could learn something from all of you, they want want want and I give give give, but only my baby who is 11 will spend time thinking about bringing special little heart shaped rocks and such, even took some of his Christmas money and spent it on me,the other 2 don't even know when my birthday is.......so I'm proud of you all and I know she is a fortunate woman and a great MOM with wonderfull Children.....Big Smile.....And hey 46 isn't that old,I know we seem like dinosaurs to you but we have young soals......Mia....A Mom

When I turned 46, my daughter had set me up a page on Myspace and even downloaded music and pictures of my family, etc. I love it! This year, I want an MP3 player loaded with all my favorite oldies to wear when I go walking.
Music is always an appropriate gift, just find out when she graduated from high school and look up all the number 1 hits from that year.

Ok how about smellies & makeup? Or accesories? For previous birthdays I got my mum a make up bag & stuffed it with those mini travel toiletries, a mug & some posh coffee beans & a scarf & earrings! To be honest, my mum always says she prefers something homemade, so I always make her a card with sequins & stuff. If you're a bit stuck for cash, why don't you make her a meal or birthday cake? For Christmas last year I made my Mum a giant cheque promising her a cooked meal, free makeover, to keep my bedroom tidy, that sort of thing! Hope it helps!

Wow your Mom turned 46, tell her happy birthday, I also was born in 61 and for my 46th birthday this year my daughters had portraits made of the three of them together, I cried, it was so beautiful. I had been trying for years to get the 3 of them together to take a portrait together like I did every 5 years when they were children, I guess the nagging did get through. God Bless.

depending on where you live I SWEAR by this as a gift -
book her and yourself a day out in london and go to Float Works http://www.floatworks.com/ -
you go in a pod and float for an hour on water (1000lbs of epsom salts) its the second best thing to floating in space - as well as completely relaxing every single muscle in the body because you are completely suspended in the water - you can also lose up to 5lbs by having aone single session, its absolutley brilliant - and there are no known reported cases of anyone suffering claustrophobia having an attack whilst using these pods - you can have the ambient lights on or off and you can choose your music - the whole thing lasts about an hour or just over - but do all your girly shopping before hand as youll be too relaxed after - so go for a nice meal after -

Dependingon your budget, maybe you or "all" of you could go in together on a "spa" day for your Mom. Or, just schedule her a full body massage. Or how about you guys quickly take a picture of yourselves together with silly faces & put it in a really cool frame? Something that will make her smile.

When I'm really stuck for my mum's birthday I ask her what she'd like and then set the day aside so we can go shopping, she can choose her present and then we go have lunch somewhere.
We haven't done that for a while actually!
