So, I am currently sitting with a friend who has been all around the world and studied many religions. Please clarify what he is telling me; is it true that the (not sure of the exact number of) virgins which are promised to martyrs upon their death and so on are actually virgin BOYS in this religion? He insists that this is true. If so, how could such a thing be held out as incentive for religious purposes? That is just fundamentally WRONG

Edit: to "Mark": so, then a young virgin who "made it" to heaven is just given to someone? What kind of justice or reward is that for the one who's the virgin? Are people, souls or virgins for that matter, chattel? This makes me wonder about what muslims are thinking is considered fair treatment of the living. Also, what does PUOH mean?

Your friend is not totally wrong. There are maidens (houris) in Paradise. They are described as wide eyed, swollen breasts beauties and they are always virgins, even after Muslim men have sex with them.

Then there are the boys who will serve them. What the service is, I'm not sure. The boys are described as eternally youthful and look like pearls. I think this is mentioned in chapter 76 of the Koran. If these are just servant boys why are they described as pearls and eternally young? Take it whatever way you want. I'm not so sure myself.

For clarification, I am not a Muslim. I have studied a book written by two brothers who were from Muslim families. They share the section of the Quran to which you refer. It does specify that those martyred for the faith will receive virgins in heaven. However the reference is clearly to females.

Your friend is well traveled and may be very intelligent. But, he is in my opinion wrong on this issue.

There is no mention about 72 or lesser number of Virgins for martyrs in Quran nor Prophet Mohammad SAW ever said such a thing.

It is a plain white lie created by Jewish media to put down and defame Muslims who are fighting for freedom of their countries from Israel an USA. Heaven is promised for freedom fighters in Quran. There is no doubt about it.

Heaven is made of virgins young people of both sex. martyrs are not the only people who are going to live in heaven. Those martyrs who gave their lives willingly to serve their God like Jesus "PUOH" are rewarded the highest rewords among the rewards are the female virgins who made it to heaven.
Sorry Peace up on him

That doesn't sound correct to me, a man was hung in Iran three weeks ago. The crime: Being a homosexual.

I can't imagine that morality in life would conflict with religious beliefs especially to Muslims.

Read the Quran.

It describes the angelical servants who serve the people in paradise.

The Quran specifies marriage with spouses and angelical spouses.

They will be served by angelical waiters, the ones who you are talking about.

Those who want to twist that into some sexual meaning are being dishonest.

This accusation recently came out so it is quite new.......... just people looking for something to say knowing few will ask like you did .

God bless you for "testing" falsehood and rumors.

Totally untrue, its propoganda they say if you die fighting for Islam you get 100 virgins in heaven its false. YOU GO TO HEAVEN FIGHTING THE KAFIRS NON BELIEVERS WHEN YOU GET KILLED BY KAFFIRS.
