Elijah. A chariot of fire took him. Also Enoch, in the book of Genesis. Right there, in the first book of the Bible, God is taking people to himself. It is God's "M.O."

It is clear from the english translation of the OT that both Elijah and Enoch went to heaven. Since the NT is written in a differing tongue, without having first hand knowledge of the word Christ used nor the language, I cannot definitively say why it seems as if Christ is saying no man has ascended into heaven. Nor why the same word wasn't used in place of lifted in the same sentence. But the answer is yes, both Enoch and Elijah went to heaven.

As far as i know, Heaven is not mentioned at all in the Old testament. There are mentions of people who ascended, like Elijah and Enoch, to heaven. But it is not mentioned as a concrete place where good doers go after death. In the old testament, souls go the Sheol after they die. The Sheol is pretty much like the Hades or underworld of the greeks.
Popular christian belief is that mankind was only granted Heaven after the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ; some even believe that we cannot enter yet until the Second Coming.

Faith through grace! However, ONLY 3 people are known to be in heaven other than JESUS, Enoch, Moses, Elijah.

Read Hebrews 11.

It says they didn't die, but not that they went to "heaven" as in the Christian sense of heaven vs. hell.

Plainly Jesus said no man has ascended to heaven.

Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

with this knowledge and the knowledge of the hebrew language with strongs concordance, we know that Elijah was not taken to Heaven where God is, but into the sky.

shaw-mah'-yim, shaw-meh'
The second form being dual of an unused singular; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve): - air, X astrologer, heaven (-s).

even Martha , who was a very good friend of Jesus, new that we do not rise from the grave at death but rise at the resurrection when Jesus returns to this earth at that great and wonderful day of the lord.

Joh 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Joh 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Joh 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Joh 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Says God took them but does not say he took them to heaven.
No one was taken to heaven before Jesus.
this says he was first one taken to heaven.
So others may have died and been hidden in a grave for their own protection.
Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile again to himself all [other] things by making peace through the blood [he shed] on the torture stake, no matter whether they are the things upon the earth or the things in the heavens.
