Hi Midge. I'll probably be surprised about a lot of things when I face the Most High, but that won't be one of them. I expect to see all of Jesus' people in Heaven, Catholics included.

I will be surprised if there IS a "judgement". I will be blown away by the idea that God, who is described as perfect, unconditional love, is judging me, even though, in omnipotence, God knows every thought, emotion and motivation that has ever gone through my mind and understands better than I do why I have done everything in my life I have done.

I will be surprised that this being has allowed Hell to exist, even though, being all-powerful, God could destroy Hell and bring all the souls supposedly in hell back to God.

I will be further surprised that it was the Catholics who were right, despite the Spanish Inquisition, the persecutuion of many other cultures and ways of life, the pedophilic priest scandals, the silence in the face of the Holocaust, and the psychological damaging of millions of people by the threats of 'Hell", all in the name of a man who taught unconditional love, acceptance, and "judge not, lest ye be judged."

In short, if I die and I see a stern old man with a beard sitting on a throne, with an army of faithful behind him applauding as he lovingly sends countless souls to eternal torment, I will be pretty surprised.

I looked and looked and looked some more in my New Testament and still can't find the passage where it says that Catholics (or anybody else, for that matter) will be sitting next to Jesus at the Judgment.

Won't you be surprised when the Flying Spaghetti Monster sends you to antarctica for being judgemental?

Or if the Norse are sitting next to Odin, or the Moslems next to Allah, or the Hindus next to Vishnu?

Get the idea?

Uh, No one will sit next to Jesus.. He is at the right hand of God..

Really, what makes you think that? Contrary to popular belief. God is NOT now, or NEVER has been, Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist or any other religion.

See, Religion is a man-made organized set of rules that allow you to enter *their* building supposedly to worship together. He does`t care what religion you are.. He doesn`t care about what you wear or don`t wear. No where in the bible does it mention, nuns marrying God. No where does it say to NOT eat fish on Friday. No where does it say that you must go to a Catholic church.. Catholics have NEVER been mentioned in ANY bible. Nor ANY other religion..

Peace & God bless..<><

"...to sit at my right and at my left, this is not mine to give but is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father." Matthew 20: 23, paraphrased

I would be surprised yup...

Is this before or after the judgment for praying to false gods?

and praying to saints is just as bad if you ask me... men cannot be glorified enough by men to become equal to god.

But I do hope everyone makes it into heaven... its not a matter of how well you followed the law but remembering "All come short of the glory of God" and that only by the grace of God shall ye enter unto the kingdom of heaven.

Don't get me wrong you are to follow the law to the best of your abilities and seek forgiveness when you falter, but we are not perfect and no person can be righteous enough to get into heaven by their actions alone. our Righteousness, as a sinner, is No Better Than Filthy Rags.

God bless, and best of luck!!
