Sales of Riesling wine have rocketed this week after it was used by Nigella Lawson in a chicken recipe featured on her latest cookery series.
In the latest sign that Lawson has inherited the legendary power over shoppers that Delia Smith used to enjoy, Tesco says that sales of the white wine have jumped by 30 per cent in recent days, after the cook featured her Coq au Riesling dish on this week's edition of Nigella Express on BBC2.

Delia is a good old basic recipe cook. I have never faltered when using one of her recipes. Nigella is great but does reqire some ingredients that most of us don't readily have. I think both have their own merits and wouldn't compare them as cooks but my husband would go for Nigella as a visual treat every time!!

I love Nigella is so funny and lovely Delia quite boring. Is a pleasure waching Nigella express even I don't follow hers recipes because I am italian and I cook in my own way.

I think people see Delia as a sort of mother figure who you can look up to! Nigella has more of a sex appeal though!

Both are good cooks but Delia has a longer pr oven track record and has been given the ultimate accolade of having her Christian name recorded in the OED

I would say NO :
Neither of them are as good looking as James Martin.
They can keep the Riesling aswell - cheap muck.!

I suppose she is, maybe more so...especially with all the men... but she does do some great recipes
