My husband and I were baptised in 2002 and saved then also through The Chruch of Christ. We somehow haven't been attending church regularly. I believe that you must walk with Jesus to get to heaven and God.
However I would like to know about other religions. It doesn't hurt one to learn something new. Would you please name a religion and tell a little about it (who they worship and why, etc) if someone has already named one religion then maybe you can name another one.
I was raised on only knowing thing's from the Bible and through Church of Christ and thats just how it was... so I am ignorant when it comes to other religions and would liek to have the chance to know about them.
Thank you!

goinupru: I like to think of myself as a Christian. I believe in God, believe that Jesus died for our sins. Have read the bible, Try my hardest to live by the 10 commandments and what God wants.
BUT** You come across as very pushy. It's great you want to spread the word but you don't have to shout you know. I personally am not for FORCING anyone to believe in my belief. I will help them, make sure they are happy, and in a very soft friendly way bring up Christ. I find that I get ALOT more people who understands this way then being the Christian who SHOUTS at people to believe or die in hell. Ya know?
First learn to love EVERYONE, No matter what their beliefs are. God wants us to be in the image of His Son Jesus. And Jesus loved everyone, even the one's who beat him. So please don't judge someone by their religion. Love them, pray for them, help them and have an open heart and mind.
I may be wrong. Who knows... Thats juat how I was raised.

There are religions galore to pick from. However, God never called anyone to a "RELIGION"....religion is mans way of reaching God.
God has ONE WAY where He has reached down to US...and that ONE way is the ONLY way anyone ever gets saved.
Heaven is not a reward for having lived a good life. NONE of us qualifies , and God tells us this in His word. "There is NONE good, no not ONE"
Heaven is offered to those who have accepted Gods gift of Righteousness. The righteousness of GOD is provided FOR YOU, so that you can enter a HOLY HEAVEN. The means of that provision are the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and YOUR identification with Him in them.
No one gets to heaven by DOING ANYTHING...ONLY by BELIEVING in what has already BEEN DONE by Christ on the Cross.
Church of Christ is in error as they add to the GRACE of God by requiring works to be saved. God says NO NO NO> It is by GRACE that you are saved thru faith, and that NOT of yourselves, lest any man should boast.
Forget about learning about all the OTHER religions. Find the ONE WAY that is a sure thing. The gospel of OUR salvation is thru BELIEVING and trusting in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. If you dont ACCEPT that as a gift....heaven will NOT be your destination...no matter HOW religious you were.

It depends how thinly you want to slice it!
Christianity: (but some branches of Christianity do not recognise some other branches as fully Christian, or Christian at all.
Orthodox (Russian, Greek...)
Roman Catholic
Protestant (sub-divides to Baptist, Lutheran...
Jehovah's witnesses and Mormons may fit here too )
Other Abrahamic, Semitic, faiths
Judaism (reform and orthodox)
Islam (Sunni, Shia, Sufi)
Eastern religions:
Hinduism,
Buddhism (Both with a variety of forms)
Shinto
Confucianism,
Taoism
Syncretic religions (formed from the elements of more than one religion) Baha'i, Santeria...
Naturalism, broadly:
A wide range of faiths connecting to nature, the sun, the seasons, and earth as a god/goddess. (not all holding to all of those) possible including the New Age movement here, which itself contains a range of beliefs and practices about spirituality and the nature of humanity and the world.
Wiccans, Pagans, Neo-Pagans...
Tribal and traditional deities form particular localities.
The list is almost endless, and apologies for any group I've neglected.

Do you feel that your God is limitless? Infinitely simply, infinitely mercifully, infinitely strong, infinitely loving? If God is limitless, how can potentially be just one TRUE strategy to entry infinity? There ought to be a vast quantity of approaches it may be approached. The Hindus have a pronouncing, "All paths can lead up the mountain, and the one ones losing time are individuals who run across the base yelling at others, 'Hey, you are at the fallacious paths!'"
