You go to hell/not go to heaven, abandons people
Either he's a merciful god or,
He kills LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of people in the bible.

Honey...it aint US who gets that priviledge.
God can do anything He so chooses.
He IS loving and He doesn't abandon people....stop whining and do a study about Him...use the Bible and look at the Cross. THEN tell me how unloving He is.

When we were heading to hell, God made a way for us to escape, but then left the decision up to us, because he respects out right to make up our own mind. Unfortunately many will choose hell rather than the kindness of a loving God who extends mercy still for all who will...
Jesus says, "I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except by me."
The whole issue is that we are rebels to the kingdom of God and need to become humble to the simplicity of how to accept the way home. We can either believe God, who gave up His only begotten Son as a sacrifice to pay the price for our redemption, or not.
Jesus was either the Lord of all or not... I suggest you read the story for yourself before you make any rash assumptions.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, and Peter make compelling witnesses for believing in Him in the New Testament.

I sympathize with your question, but it does assumes that you see the world the way an omniscient being would. A theologian might argue that these only seem to be contradictory because of your limited perspective. Keep looking, though, since the theologians are simply rationalizing baseless belief.

No one wants to accept contradictions. No one wants to admit he holds a logical contradiction. That's why ALL religious people PRETEND to believe. They are really Atheists acting as pious believers. In fact, they got so good at acting they forgot that they are just playing a role they happen to like so much. Sometimes that happens to very good actors. They confuse the role they play in a movie with their real life.

That's like saying you enjoy freedom in America but should not go to jail for breaking America's laws.
We all deserve death for our trespasses. God, in His mercy, took that punishment upon Himself that the law may be fulfilled. At that point, all people who go to hell will go there for not accepting the atoning punishment. They reject the free offer of grace and literally choose to go to hell.
Heaven or hell - it's your choice.

It's mercy to eventually NOT let God haters in Heaven. Mercy to the people who love God, Mercy to the people who hate him and want to be nowhere near him. Either way God is Mercy.

more pertinent if God is truly all loving and all powerful- why does he allow the suffring in the world to go on?? Either he must be all loving but not so powerful or all powerful btu sadistic- your choice!!
