On a proper table setting, should the dessert fork face the left or the right and why?

The dessert fork should be placed with the tines pointing left making it easy for the right hand to pick it up!

Facing left, however an alternate placement would be to the left of the dinner fork, on the left side of the plate.

Pointed left, because most diners will be right handed and this will make it easier to pick up and use. And I'm sure there's a web site or two out there.
