Pretty much like heaven. Imaginary.

Good question....Some religions believe that Hell is our grave when we are dead and buried. Some believe that Hell is right here on earth now. While others believe that Hell is only in ones mind or imaginary thoughts. Now I believe that Hell is where one will go if they have committed a mortal sin and didn't ask God for His forgiveness. What is Hell? Is it another realm in the universe or is it here on earth ruled by Lucifer? Or possibly beneath us here on earth? I would imagine that Hell would be a place where all who defy Gods laws or rules will go if they haven't asked for forgiveness. I don't think Hell would be a nice place. The pits of Hell. Doesn't sound good. I wouldn't want to go there myself. Hell might be right here on earth after the second coming. Such as the rapture. Some believe in the rapture to where the ones that believe in God will disappear from the earth and the others will remain, so maybe that will be Hell for those that didn't believe in God or His word. Hell on earth. I guess it's what we choose to believe. Have a blessed day!

Hell is to be under God’s eternal wrath and punishment for our sins. It is not simply “annihilation” – as many people want to believe – because man has an eternal soul. Hell will be terrible beyond anything we can imagine, and God uses dreadful language to describe it:

(1) Hell will be eternal “punishment”: Matthew 25:46 “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

(2) Hell will be eternal “torment”: Revelation 14:11 “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night…”

(3) Hell will be eternal “darkness”: Matthew 22:13 “… cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

(4) Hell will be eternal “fire”: Mark 9:44 “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

The Bible teaches that at the end of the world all the wicked will come under eternal punishment in a place called Hell, and this time may be very near. There is much Biblical evidence that points to the fall of 2011 as the end of the world.

Whatever we describe the hell we will never imagine it . Try to remind yourself about every bad thing you did in your life you will find the result there .

You'll never know. Why? Because in the grave, which what hell actually is, you'll be "conscious of nothing".

Take a moment to read Ecclesiastes 9:5,6. You might find it interesting.

Schneb: Gehenna was a place located outside the city of Jerusalem where garbage and occasionally the bodies of criminals were thrown for disposal. Things tossed in there was permanently destroyed. They did not burn forever. It's why any scriptural reference to the wicked being destroyed in Gehenna also refers to permanent destruction, not eternal torment. Ask yourself why a loving God would condemn a person to eternal suffering for sins commited in such a limited human lifespan.

Hell will be a place with no light, love, or presence of God.

Q&A Queen - The question refers to Gehenna, not Hades.

The Angel prophesying to Daniel said it was a real place...
Da 12:2 - And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

God revealed it to Isaiah that is a real place.
Isa 66:24 - “And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

Jesus confirmed God's prophetic word to Isaiah three times!
Mr 9:44 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
Mr 9:46 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
Mr 9:48 “where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’

...and described it as a dimension of darkness.
Matt 25:30 "...cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Jude spoke of it...
Jude 7 - suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

And John in Revelation also described heaven in detail.
Re 20:10&15 - And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire...and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

“Then indeed you, O those astray (who are) deniers, will be eating from trees of zaqqum and filling with it your bellies, and drinking on top of it from scalding water, and will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. That is their hospitality on the Day of Recompense.” (Quran 56:51-56)

“…They will be given to drink boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels (to pieces).” (Quran 47:15)

“It is like boiling oil, when it is brought near a person’s face, the skin of the face falls off into it.”

“Super-heated water will be poured onto their heads and will dissolve through it until it cuts up their innards, expelling them; until it comes out of their feet, and everything is melted. Then they will be restored as they were.”

“The Fire will burn their faces and they will grin therein, their lips displaced.” (Quran 23:104)

But really, as long as the powers that be have you living in fear, "hell" has served its purpose. You fill in the gruesome details for yourself.
