I didnt bother to read other peoples answers but yes he is the best statistics wise...Other than that its all based on opinion. Many say Dale Sr is the best but thats just opinion on his attitude and what his stats may have been if hed a been here now. So you decide..Jeff is a good guy people just don't like to accept the fact he is one of the best in NASCAR. Lots of people call him g@y and make fun of him but thats just because they never matured from their child hood. I am a Tony Stewart fan....

Top 5 All-Time I'd say. BIG fan of his. The only reason I don't think he's the best is because of others like Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr. On the other hand, no driver is really the best, they just have different strengths and weaknesses.

There are soooo many great drivers past and present....Jeff Gordan the best? Naw but Dale sr and richard petty where pretty darn good in their day....there's quite a list of great drivers from back in the day....

He is one of the best he has more wins than any active driver and 4 Championships. He is one of the best ever to drive, But I think we will have to wait until his career is over to see if he is The Best Driver Ever.

Not only no but HELL NO! Gordon is talented but names like Petty, Earnhardt Sr. Cale Yarborough, Waltrip, Junior Johnson. Those are the legends and the best of the best ever.

Richard Petty is greatest ever, you can't beat 200 wins, but Gordon is one of the greatest ever for sure.

I'd put him in the top 5..Richard Petty and definitely Dale Earnhardt Sr are the best ever drivers in Nascar.. For me Dale Sr is the best ever....

I think Richard Petty is the best ever, but Jeff is very close behind him. I think you really can't compare the 2 fully until Jeff's career is over. Dale would be my #3, how appropriate.
