Contact the company that sold it to you and ask for a return number. Then follow their instructions and ship it back in the way that they recommend. MAke sure all of the packing instructions are followed to the letter. If this guitar is new, it should be under warranty and you should be able to get it replaced for free. If it's just a bad cord however, you can find that out by getting it tested at your local music store. You can get a new one for about ten dollars. Whether you want to go through all of the trouble of waiting for a new instrument over a bad cord is up to you I suppose.

If it's the guitar or amp however, it's worth it. Next time you buy a guitar, go down to your local music store and try one out. It's about the same money in most cases and you know that it works before you bring it home.

If you mean the lead between the guitar and the amp, you basically have 3 choices. you have a dodgy lead, a dodgy socket on the guitar or a dodgy socket on the amp. It sounds like a bad earth connection somewhere. Ist try a new lead. If that makes no difference, you will need to get both sockets checked. If you bought your gear at a local music shop, take it back and have it checked out.If you didn't it gets more complicated, but you still need to have it checked out. Maybe your local music shop knows or someone who could do that, or would do it themselves. It doesn't hurt to ask! Hope this helps.

I wish you would have asked on Yahoo before you bought this guitar !!!!!!!! Are you having a hard time playing it ? Everyone I know who bought one has the same problem....infact someone in my family bought one....I've played guitar for almost fourty years and I never had one in my hands that was as hard as that one to play.....the action on that guitar is bad !!!!!! So I called the music store in my area to ask if something could be done about this and the clerk said, "don't tell me it's an Estaban", and I said, "yes it is how do you know", and he said everyone in this area that bought one thought that it was impossiable to play....the action is terriable, the strings are way to high.....some even had frets that were off....and had to be hammered down....he told me that they can be repaired, but he felt bad for all these people that though it was them....they found it very hard to play. When I played this guitar I couldn't believe it after about ten minutes my fingers and hands hurt so bad....and like I said I've been playing almost fourty years. This problem that your having...I'm not sure what this is.....I play classical guitar and acoustic....so I don't know much about amps....if I were you I would take it to your local music store and see what they can do with it....are you finding this guitar very hard to play ? If so the music store can fix that for you when you check out this amp problem. It's a shame...that Estaban sounds so good on TV....they just forget to tell you that it's almost impossiable to play !!!!!!!!!!

It could be a short in the cord - try another cord. If that's not it, try the guitar in another amp to see if it's the amp or the guitar.
