Really... there might be some liberals out there that believe they are using it too often but... there is usually a reason behind it. Police are looked at in the wrong way. If you don't do anything bad and stay away from crime then you won't even be set up in a situation to have them taser you! For instance, that John Kerry speech where the kid was tasered... he was first being escorted out, he then disrupts a speech being given by a senator... and was originally going to just be charged with disorderly conduct in a public place... and so what does he do? He makes a HUGE scene and upon them escorting him out he flails about, starts screaming and they tasered him due to the fear that he might lash out against him or maybe even worse and start a riot. Police protect not just you but everyone... If it takes a taser to stop a knuckle head from wasting any time from the lives of the rest of us, then I would gladly pull the trigger along-side them.

if you're resisting arrest why shouldn't they use it they put their lives on the line everyday b/c u never know what kind of psycho's you'll come in contact with. They have the right to protect themselves from danger as well as you do! I'm sure there's some cases that the law enforcement thinks they're above the law and does crap just b/c they can. Depends on the circumstances!

Because its more fun to watch a perp go stiff as a board and fall over then to watch their grey matter go flying. Besides, with the tazer, you can hit them time, after time, after time and continue to laugh your butt off at how stupid some people are. Ok, so listening to them scream as 50k volts pound through their body is more satisfying than listening to them cry from being beaten.

Some of the clowns are masochists, they love to inflict pain on people. In every dept. you have your bullies who were roughly treated when they were kids, and now it is their time to dish out the punishment. They guys slipped through the cracks of the psychological screening prior to entering the academy.

More than they should? How about not enough. I say if you back talk a cop you should get a warning, if you threaten a cop IN ANY WAY you should get tazed. It's not the cops fault your body sucks and can't handle a little jolt of electricity.

when you give a human the power to be over an other human and give him a new toy they will use it any chance they get,,some of then get busted doing it to much or at the wrong times

Power hungry, public perception that tasers aren't lethal. They are lethal and police officers are often poorly trained.

They aren't, you are just hearing more about it. Maybe you would rather hear about more clubbing and shooting of people who make asses out of themselves and want to fight rather than do what they are legally told to do.
