I dont hear the korotkoff sounds until maybe 6-8mmHg after the ticker on my aneroid sphygmomanometer "flickers" as it drops. Do I record it when it starts flicking or when I actually HEAR the sound through the stethoscope?

Thanks. I'm a student by the way, just checking before my exam.

You record when you first hear the korotkoff sounds (diastolic) to when you no longer hear the sounds (systolic).

Good luck on your exam!

You record the number as you first hear the sound and the last number you hear it at as it drops. Don't worry about the
"flickers", just the sound.

The sound only is taken.
