I don't think that is possible. Even when a person is very adult about it and uses "I" statements, most people are bright enough to know that it is about them. A confrontation is a form of disapproval and that hurts. Some react hurt others lash out angry. Some won't show they are hurt and pretend things are OK, but inside they still feel it.

I think the things a person chooses to confront another about needs to be over something worth the emotions that are going to be created in the confrontation. It also should be on things that need to stop because of harm to self or others. I do not think confronting people on their benign personal choices in life is that important.

It is impossible to confront someone without hurting their feeling or being mad at you, because there is conflict of interest involved in every confrontation.

Try not to make it a "confrontation" but more like a "serious "conversation" that needs to be approached and delt with...and this way, you prepare them to "discuss" than "argue" and try to keep it "low toned" and on the subject, and not allow it to get "radical" it helps alot...and makes it less painful...and both sides can benifit from it..and possibly continue in some sort of relationship...bye...

Just remain calm and let the truth out. I tell my best friend the truth if I think she's acting a darn fool and she actually likes that I tell her because if it wasn't for me then who knows what all ridiculous things she could be doing. Just tell her the truth nice and easy. You could prevent her/him of going down the wrong path. Better to try than not.

I had such a problem in past. It was really difficult for me. I couldn't sleep at nights, were thinking how to say it to her.

At last, I decided to say all the truth. Started a really romantic letter, added some salt and wrote what I do think. She asked to think during a weekend. Thought and said that she agrees that it needs to finish here and now.

So, I would recommend to say all the truth, but try to put yourself in the place of her/him. How would you like to hear it? Say it that way.

You should ask them their point if view in why the fight started. think critically about why that person got mad at you. It is really easy to miss important things in a relationship.

I DON'T THINK YOU CAN "CONFRONT" SOMEONE WITHOUT HURTING THEIR FEELINGS. MAYBE YOU ARE USING THE WRONG WORD

Some times you can try to tell them nicely.

Some people just won't lesion unless you just tell them straight out.
