I'd have to think so, assuming they're not on a respirator. It's just vibration of the pharynx at the back of the throat during relaxed breathing. Doesn't get much more relaxed than coma.

I don't know about the "nurse" above me, but I had a friend that was in a coma for 7 months and he wasn't on a machine. I agree with the first guy...all it is is the vibration of them breathing so yeah, it is possible.

some one in a deep coma would be on a life support machine
