Just because the food is there, doesn't mean you *have* to eat it. Go with your mom or dad to do the grocery shopping and choose healthy foods for you. (Not too much cuz they will probably complain.) Increase your fruits and vegetables. Drink only water. You have to be strong to make healthy choices for yourself because no one else can make them for you. About your weight and height, I think that you are around a healthy size. But it doesn't hurt to eat healthy foods.

If you are 5'6" and 130 lbs, i don't see a reason for weight loss.

If you want to lose a few pounds then do it. If no one else is on a diet, they can eat whatever they want.

It's WILLPOWER that helps us meet our goals in life.. and sweets in the refrigerator or not, you could break down at any time and go to the store and buy fattening food.

I'm a recovering alcoholic, but that doesn't mean others who enjoy a drink with a meal or when they go out are being mean to me by drinking. they don't have the problem, I do...

Eat what is available and what coincides with your diet, and leave the other stuff alone.

I started the Jenny Craig diet when I hit 230! I ran into some of the same problems with my friends and family. Some times it is not what you eat but how much you eat. Portion control might be the answer to part of the problem.

Explain to your family about your diet and why it is important to you. Ask for their help and support! Explain to them the things you can and can't eat. Ask them to accompany and join in with you when you exercise.

This will not only help them to relate with what you are going through but may also prove to be a support group for you.

I am averaging a 2 pound loss per week on a 1700 calorie diet by adding in an exercise routine.

Good luck! : - )

No one can help you but you (especially when on a diet). Just stock the fridge with healthy treats and at work or school, keep it up.
I am really strict with my diet and grew up with a family who loves all things sugary/salty/sweet. So you really have to make a way for yourself in that kind of situation.

Your weight is just fine with your height, so I agree with your family that you don't need to loose weight.

Hon, they are probably RIGHT.
Young women just don't see their real body when they look in a mirror. Your family & friends see you clearly, and are more aware whether you are too heavy than you ever CAN be.

You're probably at the right weight for your height.

I think you need to eat...you are repeating yourself.

Seriously, your weight is normal for your height.....why not exercise and firm it all up!
