The Sign of the Cross is a pray that can be said by any one who believes in the Holy Trinity.
I open my hand and touch my brow, and say,
"In the name of the Father"
Then I touch my heart with my hand, and say,
"and of the Son."
I touch my shoulders left and right, and say,
"and of the Holy Spirit"
I say,
"Amen."
The Sign of the Cross is
+ A statement of belief in the Holy Trinity
+ A statement of belief in and thanksgiving for Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross
+ God blessing us
+ Us Blessing God ("I will bless the Lord at all times")
+ A prayer using your entire body
+ A Bible quote (Matthew 28:19)
With love in Christ.

I am neither Catholic nor Orthodox. I don't use the sign of the cross when I pray, nor have I felt led to do so even in Catholic or Orthodox services.

Anyone who believes in the Trinity can bless themselves with the sign of the cross, whether you're Catholic or not.

The cross with equal branches is the sign of the laws of God.
The religions have other personal laws.

I'm pretty sure it's just a Catholic thing. I don't know of any protestants that do that.

what's the difference if you do it or not? I mean some do it-- so what? If they are baptized then it makes no difference---Christ is not divided why do people try to do that?
