Let's say you have a brother or sister (in Christ) in your church when going through a really hard time puts a smiley face on and acts like things alright when things aren't. On the other hand, let's say you have a brother in Christ at church that can't talk about what hardships he's going through with out using profanity. He says, "things are pretty f^%$ed right now. what do you think God is really more turned off by and why. what are you more turned off by?

I would say that I am more turned off by the gut who is acting like everything is ok when it's not. God is about honesty and truth. If your one friend says some profanity when he speaks about his problems, then that's good. He is more intune with his feelings and emotions. Where as the other guys is BSing himself and others around him. Plus God only helps those who help themselves. So I say "put it out there", don't hold back. God doesn't.

God is not man. We puny humans think that He is like us!

God hates sin (trespasses against His ordinances and commands) but He loves the sinner that is why He left us a book to learn His ways. There is hope for us yet!

As for the things I'm turned off to, they don't matter much. I'm human and I got a lot to learn, people to love and things to give. I'm not judgmental, just real. I have enough problems keeping myself in line with the Word of God let alone trying to get the splinter out of my brothers eye. Read Matthew 7. This is how we process truth and get over to the next day. There will be stumbling blocks every where you go but you don't have to be one of them. Let peace began with you!

I hate people who scream bible verses at me while looking at porn..or walking by homeless people, or ignoring the pain and suffering that is everywhere today. I would rather do good works with an Atheist than nothing with a Christian.. and I think God would agree

I don't believe that God gets "turned off" by anything. Neither situation that you describe turns me off. . .it's just people going through life's growth process. . .that's all.
